Either she likes the way your skin feels or knows she will get a reaction from you. Ignore it, she'll stop. Or give her a small, stuffed animal to pinch. My grandbaby rubs the edge of her fav blanket, could be the same self-soothing action your babe is looking for.

You have to get your baby to stop it by exeggerating the hurt (cry, or exclaim OUCH!) and then put her down (if you're holding her) or place her an arms length from you. Ignore her for a minute. Keep doing this consistently and she will learn to stop.

She is pinching because 1) she just discovered the act 2) she has gotten rewarded for it the first few times she did it. You may have inadvertently smiled or laughed the first time she did it and now she thinks it's fun.

She may be trying to feel things out.... If I pinch mommy, how will she act?...... Will it be the same way every time?..... She will stop eventually. My son did this also. It was just a stage he went through. All u can do is keep telling her it hurts, and not to do it. She may not understand that it hurts, so maybe show her it does hurt. I really dont recommend this, but it could work.

it may be because it is guaranteed to get a reaction from you, just like if she squeezes a toys tummy because it squeaks. Try your best not to react when she does it and move her hands away, also find another habit which isn't so painful and make a huge show of thinking that's great.

Maybe she thinks its fun. She doesnt know that it hurts. Try giving her something to hold, like food, toys and all that

Have you tried pinching her back? It's not child abuse or anything if you do. Once she KNOWS how it feels, chances are she'll stop doing it.

I think you need to cut her nails. They must be long for u to feel such excrutiating pain to complain. Cut them short like ma dad used to do mine.

I think sometimes they do things that they no hurt others, if they are experiencing pain of their own.
