My blood pressure today was 136/78 but my dr seemed really happy with this. I thought it seemed a bit high but obviously if my dr is pleased so am I. Anyone else around this and their dr is happy?

FYI - I was pulled out of work at 19 weeks (now almost 30 weeks) bc my blood pressure was high 150's/90...and since then it has been in the 120-130/70-80 for the most part...A few times its been in the 130 and the dr was pleased. One time it was in the 140's/80 but I was really nervous for a few reasons so i just think stressed had to do with it.

I have a toddler and I would like her to have a sibling. However, my husband is extremely busy and I have to do all the parenting. It's extremely tough - I feel like a single parent. However, I really would like my daughter to have a sibling. Should I have another one for her sake? I don't want her to be alone, but I am very exhausted. My husband is happy with one so I know that if we have another, it will all be on me.

Can you give me some suggestions for what to do for my daughter's first birthday? I know she's too young to remember it, and I guess it's more for me than her. What could we do, and who should we invite?

Check out this research study:

"Although the inverse relationship between the number of siblings and children's educational performance has been well established, explanations for this relationship remain primitive. One explanation, resource dilution, posits that parents have finite levels of resources (time, energy, money, etc.) and that these resources are diluted among children as sibship size increases. I provide a more rigorous investigation of the dilution model than previous studies, testing its implications with a sample of 24,599 eighth graders from the 1988 [U.S.] National Education Longitudinal Study. My analyses support the resource dilution model in three ways..."

"the tendency for large families to produce lower IQ children holds regardless of the research approach (Rodgers, et al., 2000)"

from http://www.indiana.edu/~intell/birthOrder.shtml

"Our results suggest that earlier born children have higher IQs, and this effect becomes slightly larger when controls for birth characteristics are included, suggesting that it is unlikely that biological explanations for birth order effects play much role. In addition, we find that family size has a negative effect on IQ, suggesting that random shocks to family size have a negative
effect on existing children."

from http://paa2007.princeton.edu/download.aspx?submissionId=71094

...and of course Google can find you many more research studies on the topic...

(Don't bother with the "IQ tests don't measure anything" argument--that's as good as saying you haven't read anything about intelligence and IQ tests. I'm afraid these research results are quite real.)

When I get off work at 12 midnite. I see children in the streets hanging around. I think some mother's just don't care about them. And then when something happens to them. They starts to cry. I just hope nothing happens to them.

Do you think abortion questions belong in this section? I mean I understand that it has to do with being pregnant, but shouldn't it be in another section, or maybe they can have an abortion category. Most us us in this section or either pregnant, trying to get pregnant or have given birth and it's sad when you are trying to get pregnant, especially if you have been trying for a long time, and have to read about all those who are trying to get rid of theirs. Regardless of your view on abortion, I feel people have a right to ask their questions regarding it, but I just don't think this is the appropriate section. What are your thought on this?

I am on Yasmin but I missed some doses in the last month and had to play catch up on a few days. I have had unprotected sex and my last period was about two of weeks. In the last week or so, my breasts have been really tender and enlarged. They feel really heavy and I have increased about a cup size. I have also had some minor cramping in my lower abdomen.
