dont worry! i am 20 weeks along and i also have been trying to hear the babys heartbeat on a home doppler, this is my fourth and i have yet to hear it!!! it worked around 22weeks with my last son!! the babies heartbeat has just got to be strong enough for a home doppler to pick it up!! if you ask your OB about this, they will also tell you about the same thing, because it worried me also! but dont worry!!! thats the last thing you need!! GOD BLESS and GOOD LUCK to all 3 of you! i am sure things are fine!!! dont forget prayer works!!!

We went out and bought the heartbeat monitor with our son and NEVER heard a heartbeat, even at the end when I was full term. I gave it to my girlfriend when she found out she was pregnant and she said she never heard her son's either. And if this is your first you probably wouldn't feel a lot of movement yet anyways!!!! You'll proably be fine but if your still concerned call your doctor or go to an urgent care or something and ask if they can just put the heartbeat doppler on you so that you can make sure everything is fine!!!!

Well, your baby is still pretty small, and unless you know exactly how to use the monitor to find the heartbeat, I'm sure it's pretty easy to miss. As far as movement, I didn't really start to feel my son moving around until I was about 24 weeks. If you're really concerned though, call your doctor.

I'd be worried too if I were 20 weeks and still couldn't spell "pregnant." Or "and." Or "just." Or "monitor." Or "miscarriage." Or "sure." Or "thanks." Or knew proper punctuation.

20 weeks is still early. Home dopplers aren't as sensitive as medical-grade ones. Many women don't start feeling movement until the 20-24 week mark. Some women don't EVER show (count your blessings!). If you had an ultrasound a few weeks ago, and everything was normal, then chances are that everything is still normal.

I'm sure the baby is fine. The baby is still very small and I'm sure that it is still very hard to find the baby's heartbeat if you don;t know what to look for and where.

i never heard my babies heartbeat on my home doppler and she was full-term and fine. i threw away my monitor and gave away the one i got at my baby shower....waste of money!

i hear that miscarriages are painful, so if your feeling fine, your probably fine.

ps
be glad your not showing yet.....i was showing at 2 months and had to purchase maternity shirts earlier than my sister and cousin....i felt sooo fat!

When I was pregnant my husband and I bought one of those heartbeat monitors and we never herd anything. But since you are concerned you should call your doctor. Better safe than sorry.
