stopping totally. this morning i came on after not having a period for 19 months. i know your periods can stop while you brest fed but why now have they started. any ideas

It's because you've dropped your feeds. You normal hormonal cycle is beginning to establish itself again now that your milk-producing hormones are reducing.
It's normal, don't worry.

I breastfed my daughter for a year, dropping down to one night feed for the last month and I started the day after the night I decided I was going to give her her last feed! My body couldn't possibly have known that I had made that decision, so I can only assume that my breastfeeding hormones had dropped so low my body's hormones had started to rebalance themselves.
It really made me cross though - pg for 40 weeks, breast-feeding for nearly 52 and then I get my period the next day. I was really looking forward to having a few days where my body was my own and there was no "child-bearing" type stuff going on. I suppose its one of the many crosses we have to bear!

Your hormones are finally settling down to what is normal for you. It is more rare not to have a period for a full year after your child was born even while breastfeeding. You are just fine!

If you have cut down on how often you are nursing, then your hormones are shifting. You are no longer nursing often enough to keep your cycles away. The more often you nurse......cycles stay away or are longer. The less you nurse, cycles return or are shorter in length.
Totally normal for your periods to return if you have started weaning.

some times your period comes back with no change in your feeding routine your body is just ready, or it could be because you have droped down to only one feed. what ever the reason no need to worry but it does suck lol.

cause you are breast feeding a lot less and are coming up to stoping
