My husband is Mexican and I am white. We don't know the sex of our baby yet, but would like to have a name for each picked out. We really want a name that can be easily pronounced in English and Spanish. We have decided on a girl's name and can't agree on a boy's name. Any help would be great!

Does anybody know what kind benefits California state offer? I live a few years in the United States, so I am not familiar with types insurance. Thank you for any suggestions and help.

For about 2 weeks now my 7 week old has only been sleeping for about 3 hrs at a time now. He was sleeping for about 4-5 hrs? His routine during the day hasn't changed. Could he not be getting enough to eat? I'm breast feeding, and I know I have a pletiful supply because he doesn't even drain the whole breast noramlly at a feeding, and only feeds on one side at a time. I can't get him to feed for more than about 5-10 mins at a time, then he stops by himself and seems content? Is this noraml? !st time mom if you can't tell!!!! Thanks for any help

My husband and I have NEVER once been together on his birthday. This is year 5 and with his military career it just always seemed that he was gone or something happened to prevent us from being together. His birthday is the 17th and I really want to do something extra special for him. That normally wouldn't be a problem because I've had 5 years to plan...but we found out that our friends are throwing us a baby shower that day. They had no idea that it was his birthday also, and its the only time they could do it because I'm about ready to pop. I asked the hostess if I could bring a cake for him, but I keep hearing that its a shower not a birthday party and you only give birth to your child once, and he'll have other birthdays...blah blah blah. So basically now I have to figure out what I can do for him. I don't want him to feel left out so I just need a couple simple ideas that I could do for him to make his day.
(p.s) we can't change the date of the shower

I was invited to my sister-in-law's shower by her sister and I no longer live in the area since I moved about 6 hrs away so I cannot attend and we also are not that close anymore we used to be, we even lived together at one time. I threw her a $500+ shower for her 1st baby about 1 1/2 yrs ago it was the most attention to detail shower ever I went all out for her, (since I myself struggle with Infertility) I love baby showers.

I am going to mail a gift card this time around how much should I send without being cheap or overdoing it?

She is my husband's brother's wife.

My doctor put me on birth control pills to try to regulate my period after going 15 straight months with a completely irregular period. I was never good with the pill, I took my first pill on the 24th of January and then followed it with 4 more pills but not consecutively meaning I took the pill on the 24th, 25th, and 26th, forgot the 27th , took it the 28th, and 29th and then just kept forgetting we had a lot going on, anyways those are the only birth control pills I have taken besides the depo provera shot in November of 2005, could those 5 pills still be giving me side effects on the 14th of February, I am having some tugging sensations in my lower abdomen and also feel completely wiped out all the time no matter how much sleep I get and some foods are making me sick, this isn't me thinking of it too much I just noticed all of this the other day. My boobs are still really sore on the sides and underneath my armpits, is this just the pills or could there be something else.

I carried around my "Me-Me" until I was like 5. I remember all the details of it, and even when my mom took it away. After numerous attempts of hiding it and me finding it, she threw it away and told me "The Blanket Fairy" came to get it. LOL. I believed her.

I asked a nurse at the hospital when I was there if an enema would cause me to go into labor and she said that its very doubtful. I know it has worked for some people, but if it doesn't actually send me into labor..do you think it would help to dilate or ripen my cervix?

We recently purchased a new home and we have two empty bedrooms, one of which will be a nursery (soon, we hope!) and one of which will be a spare guest room until we need it for another child or family member.

We're trying to figure out where to put what furniture and paintings. (We don't want to have to replaster, paint, etc. too many times.) We'll leave the future nursery empty for now, and put the guest room furniture in the other room.

My mom told me that babies should be in a bright room, and that they'll adjust their sleeping to the bright, sunny space. (We have some nice roman blinds on the windows but they aren't "room darkening".) HOWEVER, an on-line article that I read stated that babies don't do well in a bright room, but prefer dark for sleeping.

Does anyone have any insight or ideas about which room to make my "nursery," the bright room (which faces South) or the "dark room" (which faces North)?
Thanks!

Doesn't a paternity suit imply that the party in question is who the father is? So why would the mother's DNA be needed instead of just the child's and the father(s) who trying to determine paternity.

I have loved beng a stay home mom for the last 2 months, but yesterday a friend of a friend called me out of the blue and offered me my dream job. She knew I wasn't working and wanted to ask if I wanted the job before she advertised for it. I would love this opportunity, but my kids would have to cooperate with their career mommy again. What do think I should do?

My daughter is almost 3 and I'm pregnant with our 2nd child. I read somewhere that everyone of your children should be celebrated and not just the 1st one. The 2nd shower would be more like a party to celebrate your new baby and not so much of a full-blown shower. Any advice?

I was just wondering what kind of care you get in the US and do you have to pay for the care?

I live in the UK and we get a midwife, two scans at 12 and 20 weeks, antenatal checkups every 4 weeks, a consultant if it is a high risk pregnancy and a choice of giving birth in a hospital, birthing centre or at home.
Pain relief choces are birth pool, gas and air, pethedine, epidural.
How does that compare to US?
