My daughter had hers out when she was 5. She did not eat anything for the first couple of days. But I did get her to drink juice. And then we graduated to ice cream, jello and pudding. Then she would finally eat some soup. Don't be suprised if she loses a little weight...it is normal. What ever my daughter wanted to eat, I gave it to her.
Good luck. She should start feeling better after a couple of days.

I got my tonsils out at age 7 .. nothing too traumatic. Just let her relax and watch cartoons .. ice cream is good! anything cold and smooth!

Sugar-free popsicles sooth the aching pain of the tonsilectomy, also try jello and other soft cold foods.

Tylenol and ice cream, or anything that is cold to reduce the swelling.

Don't give her dairy till for a couple of days. Warm Milk helped me out. No tomatoes or oranges -- they will burn the throat!

ice cream!! popsciles.. anything cool that will numb that pain in her throat. oh and lots of hugs from mama, that always makes it better. :-)
