I have had so many troubles with insurance while being pregnant! I have ended up getting the state insurance. You see, most every insurance out there will NOT cover a pregnant woman in the first year of coverage. I don't know about california state benefits though. However in Illinois, they give you insurance based on how much money you make. If you make more than a certain amount then you have a copay or monthly payment. Talk to your states health department and they should know where to direct you. Good luck.

RE :Pregnancy and insurance?
I am five weeks pregnant and do not have any insurance. I cannot afford too expensive insurance. Is there any other option for low-cost coverage during pregnancy? Does anybody know what kind benefits California state offer? I live a few years in the United States, so I am not familiar with types insurance. Thank you for any suggestions and help.

Waiting until after you're pregnant to seek out insurance is a BAD idea. You'll probably not be able to find anyone willing to cover you, and if you do it will have at least a $5000 deductible. If you're not a citizen I don't know if you'll qualify for state assistance or not, you'll just have to contact the office and ask. One option you may want to look into is attending college. In my state, Idaho, all undergraduates who take more than 4 credits per semester are required to have health insurance and the student insurance policy does not have a preexisting conditions clause. My deductible was $250, with 70% of all expenses covered after that.

I heard there are general hospitals for "poor" people that do not require immediate payments and might not even charge you later.
Also check with Planned Parenthood - they are free and located in many places, they definately check on you throughout the entire pregnancy and will probably take care of the birth too or at least will suggest something

Medicaid is dazzling for being pregnant. It will pay for each little thing and you do not have any out of pocket expenditures. it is going to in easy terms pay for being pregnant proper issues. The earnings limits for SOBRA medicaid is a sprint bigger i think of than prevalent medicaid by using fact they could make confident that mommies and toddlers are healthy. bypass on your community branch of human factors or the well being branch. you could bypass to medicaid internet site to work out the standards. solid success

From what I read you need to go to your local job and family services office they could give you medicaid if you meet their standerds and that would give you free health care I would even search online for your local job and family services (they usaully name them by county) you can print out an application and fill it out than send it in the mail to make things progress even faster.
