Yes, my friend had a coil fitted (although she was told it was fitted badly) and she became pregnant. She had the coil removed and went on to have a healthy baby girl. Go to the doctors straight away and explain that you think you're pregnant. The coil needs to be removed straight away if you are.

The doctor told my friend that removing the coil usually causes miscarriage, so if you are pregnant, you should probably prepare yourself for that likelihood.

If the coil is fitted then pregnancy is very unlikely. But no form of contraception is 100% reliable in all circumstances. You should do a test to put your mind at ease.

yes it is, its the same with all contraception nothing is 100%. It can also depend which type of coil you have as some have a higher pregnancy rate then others.

Yes it is possible to get pregnant, it just kind of grows around it. They can try to take it out, but it can depend, so sometimes leave it in, and you can go on to have a perfectly normal pregnancy, but it is something to get looked at early so test asap and get to the dr!!

Yes, I've heard of it before. Even of a baby born "clutching" the IUD, although that may have been a bit exaggerated. Don't ignore your feelings.
