Hi,

This morning at my doctor's appointment she told me that she wanted me to come back on Friday morning for a non-stress test and blood work because my blood pressure was much higher than she'd like ( it was 144/95, its usually 120/70)....she told me to pack a hospital bag and bring it with me because there's a chance they may have to induce depending on the test results. I will be 36 weeks and 3 days...I am very very very worried about how my baby's health will be... Has anyone had a preemie born around this time? What was your experience like?

Whats a viable alternative? People giving birth to unwanted children?

I don't see adoption as an alternative. I think that would be more traumatic for everyone involved.

I don't want a debate, I have my views and I'm entiltied to them. I would just like to hear what those pro lifers suggest.

Ok you could say 'keep your legs shut' but who on earth can say they only have sex to have babies? And no contraception is 100% so shouldn't there be a safety net?

Obviously I worry that there seems to be a trend towards just getting an abortion rather than use contracetption but its needs to be aknowledged that sometimes contraception fails.

I wa wondering this because I do go to school full time, and money expenses are huge! Im experiencing the loss of my dad and having to come up with the expenses of his death as well as the expenses of his debts on top of my own, and being 5 months pregnant and having nothing left for this baby can get stressful and tiering. I just want to know what are some good options people have to sugest.

I'm from the United States and saw this news story last night. I know my country doesn't view either food or the human form in a healthy manner, and I'm curious whether your opinions differ from those of the people here I've talked to.

I am the world's biggest wuss and I'm 12 weeks pregnant (yeah, laugh it up!). I am petrified of needles. To be honest, I'm not really worried about the labor pains too much (but I am worried, lol), I'm more worried about the epidural needle, the I V and the stitches afterwards. I really think I will pass out every time I have to move (because of pain down there). I really hope the labor pains make me more tolerable of pain. What do you think?

I hate these freaky book things you get that actually read the story to your kid. Like the leapfrop lerning pad and whatever else. How long does it take to read a book with your child? Or sit with a pen and paper and help your child learn to write?

Why do people bother having kids in the first place?

Whats the point in parents? At this rate we will be replaced by giant green frogs!

I mean right from birth companies like leapfrog etc are hell bent on producing toys that sing the alphabet and 123 over and over and over again!

Whats the point? If a child does learn to recite its alphabet or numbers it will be pure repitition, no actual concept of the numbers.

It just bugs me!! Playing with toys is learning enough and I prefer the old fashioed good old fun ones!

*rant over*

I have 2 beautiful boys (3 and 5). Both were conceived prior to ever having allergy shots. I had absolutely no problems with either pregnancy. For the last year and a half, I have been getting allergy shots, And am currently at my maintenance level. I miscarried in August, and just had another miscarriage this past week. Everything I've read says that it's safe, and so have the doctors, but this weighs on my mind heavily. Has anyone out there taken shots while pregnant, or discontinued shots during pregnancy? I'd really appreciate any comments.

I'm on birth control pills, first of all. I had my period from Feb 12-16. The next week me and my husband had sex. I was a week late taking my pills, which I still haven't started back. Lately I've been real tired, my breast is a lil sore, and i to go to the bathroom every hour and a half. I keep feeling something in my lower abdomen flutter or something(I already have 1 child). Is it possible that I could be pregnant? Me and my husband are talking about having another one, but haven't decided yet.

My kid goes to a public school and I am sick and tired of those ghetto kids bringing down the standard and making good performance look like its a shameful "white" thing... If you study hard, do your homework then you're not keeping it real! You are supposed to be a dumb-witted lazy-a..s underwear-showing thug to be respected... So I am taking my kid out of that hood and into a private school. Are you with me?
