I went in to the hospital but they sent me home I am only 2 cem but I am a week over due I am in pain and incredibly tired do you think if they broke my water it would speed up things? my doctor told me not to go longer then a week and it has been.

yes this should speed up your labour but if it doesnt then you will have to be put on a drip and there will be more of a risk of having to have an assisted birth instead of a normal one but I would still ask for them to break my waters if it were me.

Good Luck!

when they broke my water i had the baby within 10 min, but I was in labor for three days I was 2 centimeters for 1 month and i was also over by a week and my doctor had scheduled an induction the day i truly went into labor if that makes any sents. (Meaning when I fully dilated)

Breaking my water didn't help me at all. It might take longer with your first baby. I was at home for about 36 hours having contractions. When I finally got fed up and went in, I was only 3! If your doctor told you not to go longer than a week, call him and head on in!

my Dr. advised me to have sex... now i know you really don't want to at this stage but the sperm will thin your cervix and naturally speed up the labor process... mother of 4!!!
