I have never smoked a day in my life .. unfortunately, my husband smokes a pack a day :(
he says he's going to quit before the baby is born .. but as of right now .. he's still smoking a pack a day.
He has NEVER smoked in the house .. so the only time I smell smoke on him is once in a while for like 5 minutes when he comes back in the house.
Can that smell of smoke on him harm my baby?

I don't want my baby to be harmed in any way because of his dads bad habit ..

you see on t.v. these foster parent plan or something, world vision, and they show how these children are dying and starving and living with HIV or AIDS passed on from their parents, and then they have no parents cause they died and they are alone (in africa or wherever this is). i have seen this on television since i was a little kid, and this is still like that. dont get me wrong, my heart goes out to these children, i wish i had all the money in the world or whatever i need to make all these children lives better...but since this has been going on forever, since ive watched this on t.v. when i was a kid....im just thinking why dont we or they ask people to send money to give those women out there birthcontrol???they are still obviously "doing it" and making babies...why though??when they know their living conditions and that their children or babies cant survive, why would they get pregnant and have kids still just to make them suffer??what do you think?

My daughter has to be one of the best girls in the history of toddlers. She's 1.5 years old and has the best disposition of any child I've ever been around. She's clearly a product of my good genetics :-)

The problem is that my wife is pregnant again. Now, I have seen from my nephews that raising a boy is a whole new ball game. They're feisty, and rambunctious. They're a lot to handle.

How does one cope with young boys?

I have missed my period so I decided to take a HTP. So I took one and it said positive and then decided to take another one just to make sure that I was really pregnant. So this time I got the really expensive kind that says pregnant or not pregnant and mine said not pregnant. So then I was really confused on why the other HTP said I was pregnant. Do I need to wait and retest or what should I do and why did one test say I was and one test say I wasn't?

If our next child is a girl, her name will be Vallie (named after my grandma). I need to research more b/c there is reason to believe my grandma might have been named after a young girl named Valentina (she would have been my grandmothers aunt but she died as a child).
I haven't decided completely if I'm going to go w/ Valentina or Vallie (probably Vallie) but either way... my husband wants her middle name to be Ann (the same as his mother's middle name).
What's your opinion of the name Valentina Ann and/or Vallie Ann? (Vallie Ann sounds a little country to me but maybe that's just me.)
Any other middle name suggestions for the first name Vallie? (Her brother's name is Aidan Joseph.)
Thanks

Last week I was 36 weeks prego and my Dr. checked me out and said the baby's head was down, he was 1/2 cm dialated and already 70% effaced. For some reason she was surprised and rather happy with my progress. She did tell me my 4 weeks timeframe may still remain but chances of baby arriving sooner look pretty good! Well since then, I have been feeling lots of pressure to pee again and again, or it's just a pressure constantly. Even though baby's head is down, doesn't he have to engage in my pelvis and then his head movements stop right? Now I feel as of even today that there are little squirmies moving around my bladder and about an inch or so above as well. I feel his kick only a little up around my abdomen area, but that's not too bad. So the order will be what? Baby will engage itself in my pelvis, I will have mucous plug out, and then my water will break, and then it will be time for baby to come out? When would contractions start on their own if my water does not break? I would

Where was the worst public place you suffered a bout of sickness while pregnant?

My sister in law rang me earlier, absolutely mortified, as she had just managed to vomit everywhere in the supermarket. I felt sooooooo sorry for her! Do you have any similar, terrible stories?

If a woman gets pregnant. She has the option of keeping or aborting the child. The fathers wishes are irrelevant.

This strikes me as extremely unfair.

If the man wants the child and the woman doesnt, the man is outta luck. Child is aborted.

If the man DOESNT want the child and the woman does, the man is outta luck and is paying child support for 18 years.

I am not suggesting that men SHOULD be able to dictate what a woman should do with her body (keep or abort) however i am saying that they should have SOME recourse.

If a man doesnt want a child and the woman does, the man should be allowed to sign documents forgoing all legal rights to the child thus absolving him of any of the costs associated with raising the child.

I delivered on 5th August 2006. I have not had sex since then. We could not find time as baby needed feeds often. My husband has also not forced me as I have not been keeping well. There has been so much calcium depletion in my body that my back and pelvic part hurts a lot. I cannot change sides myself as it pains. My question is how do I find time and will it hurt. How does everyone else gets time? My son has a very light sleep and even if we whisper at night, my son opens his eyes. How do I do it?

My period was meant to arrive on sat 24th however it was late and I started a brownish spotting on mon and today very much the same. I have left sided cramp and sore lower back all of today, cramping is more constant today. So maybe mother nature being late for some reason. Or start questioning by the end of week if i remain the same or stop spotting?

82% of Americans over 30 have kids.....yet only 27% of those over 25 have a college degree!!! If you can afford a child (180K) how can you not afford a college degree (30-50K)? Lord knows the latter is more useful in highly competitive American society!!!!

it could just be me but i hate it. it bugs the hell out of me, and all the mexican women i know do it (i am half white half mexican). i have all ready warned many of then that when my daughter is born they best respect my wishes and not insult my child.
idont know could just be me but i think its rude, and yea when they are babies they wont know what your saying but as they grow then will begin to understand and i would not want my daughter knowing people calling her ugly, or cow, or what ever.

do all mexican women do this?

am i wrong to be offend for the little ones?

sofar i have no kids, but i have thought about it a lot and i have no idea why. i think its kind o odd for a 20 yearold guy to think about these things.
