If our next child is a girl, her name will be Vallie (named after my grandma). I need to research more b/c there is reason to believe my grandma might have been named after a young girl named Valentina (she would have been my grandmothers aunt but she died as a child).
I haven't decided completely if I'm going to go w/ Valentina or Vallie (probably Vallie) but either way... my husband wants her middle name to be Ann (the same as his mother's middle name).
What's your opinion of the name Valentina Ann and/or Vallie Ann? (Vallie Ann sounds a little country to me but maybe that's just me.)
Any other middle name suggestions for the first name Vallie? (Her brother's name is Aidan Joseph.)
Thanks

I will use either Vallie or Valentina as a first name (not a middle), I decided this when I was 15 years old when my grandma passed away. I'm not worried about leaving anyone out. Thank you for your opinion though!

Why not call her Valentina Anne with the nickname Vallie
When she's a child Vallie, When she becomes a lawyer, she have a grow up name Valentina
I like naming children after family.
Congratulations

I think that Valentina Ann is beautiful and that Vallie is an adorable nickname. I believe that you have to think how the name will sound on a baby when they become adults. As an adult just having Vallie may not be mature sounding and she may wish to BE Valentina.

Have you considered naming her Valerie formally, and calling her Vallie for short? Whenever i hear Vallie, i think of a literal Valley...a rocky crag between two hills or mountains. No disprespect to your grandmother intended, it's just that her formal name was Valentina, and she was called Vallie for short. I think that in the long run, when your little girl is an adult, she'd like the option of being able to use her formal given name professionally...or personally if she chooses. By the way, Ann is cute for a middle name, so is Mae or Rose. Good luck whatever you decide!

My daughter's name is Valentina Grace. She's 7 years old. I always get compliments on her name because it is so different. Vallie can be misunderstood as a nickname for Valerie, which is more common. I love the fact that she is the only Valentina in her school. I believe Valentina is a very exotic, feminine name, suitable for a child or a woman. My daughter's preference for a nickname is "V." Good luck to you!!

I really like Valentina! What a beautiful name, don't get me wrong, Vallie is nice, especially if there is meaning behind it. But Valentina is really beautiful.
Valentina Ann
Valentina Rose (just a suggestion) (my daughters name is Angelina Rose)
Hope this helps a little! Good Luck!

i would go with valentina but call her vallie, like as in a nickname. valentina sounds more professional and official. think of when she gets older, vallie is fine for friends and family to call her, but valentina sounds better in the workplace, or when she gets older.
valentina ann has an erudite ring to it, sounds intelligent and more proper that way.

I would def. go with Valentina Ann. When shes an adult that will be more suitable and then you can still call her Vallie.
