Know Thy Wife. I wouldn't want a spa visit, massage, or anything like that. The last thing I want right now is more fuss.
Also nixing "mother's jewellery." "Look, honey -- low-quality stones AND a marketing gimmick!" Nahhh...
But:
-- peainthepod.com gift certificate
-- real jewellery
-- maid service
-- spoiling at a better restaurant
If you must give a baby-related present, make it something on top of a present for her.

Pampering, honey, at a reputable salon. Maybe you can get her the manicure, pedicure, facial, preggo massage super duper deal at a local day spa. Make her feel like a queen. Arrange for some yummy food to be there for when she gets hungry. You'll score big time with the brownie points here- trust me. ;)

Being preggers 3 times I can tell you..food, something on the " naughty list " and a good foot and back massage....really thats all you want..even if you do those things anyway..also anything to help her feel pretty..maybe getting a pedicure or something else along those lines too.

I got a day at the spa when I was pregnant on Mother's Day and it was WONDERFUL. It was the only time where I felt all the aches and pains of pregnancy melt away....
Another sweet gift I got was a mother/baby themed picture frame that had one of the ultrasound pictures in it.

A trip, a vacation if possible, if not a weekend away!! if these are not possible, make her day really special. the regular stuff, breakfast in bed, plan something romantic, or special, depending on what she likes and what is available in your town.
well, this is what my husband did for me, and when you are pregnant, you need and love the attention.

Any kind of jewelry that has to do with mother and child she will absolutely LOVE. A mother's ring is the best but you don't want to get it yet because she might deliver early and then you will have the wrong birthstone. Go to any jewelry store and ask to see mother and child stuff and they will point you in the right direction. I have a mother and child charm on my necklace with a diamond in the middle. I love it. It is a great present for Mother's Day too.
