Other - Pregnancy & Parenting - February 2007

My husband and I have always been in agreement that we want a large number of kids around 4-6. And we've always also felt like it would be easier to have them all in a small amount of time, so we have them all in the same stage at similar times. But obviously we have no experience with children over age 4, since that's our oldest. So I'm asking for personal experiences of people with kids both closely spaced and spread out, about the pros and cons of each and what they think is best and why?

i basically dont have anyone but his brother who is about to have his own baby in March which makes our children like 2 weeks apart. and my brothers and sisters live 1- 4 hours away. how do i cope with rasing a newborn and boyfriend being in the worst part of Iraq? please help!!!!!!!!!

I have been married to the love of my life for 7 yrs now, we have thought of concieving but have just never done it. i have 3 kids who are 19,17, and 16. i am also in college full time finishing my ba in psy, then off to my masters degree. i want to have a baby with my husband but i feel i might be too old. i am 38 this yr and my husband is 48. i was trying to figure it out and by the time i have the baby and the baby turns 18 my husband will be 67! i feel maybe we waited to long. i also wonder if haveing this baby will come between us we are very close. and have so many plans with opening our business and buying a house and finishing school. so what do you all think? i always regret we didnt do it earlier and i know if we dont have one i will regert it. i love my husband so much that i really would like to have one with him. thanks all.

okay, I am 11 weeks 5 days pregnant but already I have a belly starting to form, I am quite petite at being 5ft2 and about 81/2st do you think this is a pregnant belly starting to form or just fat from what i have been eating. It doesnt feel hard though it is still soft and squidgy but def sticks out! please help! Thanx X

What have you learned about your self
Is the way people think here representative of how people think in society?

Honestly I am kind of disappointed in most people here. Many are very liberal and shun honesty and free opinion. Frankly, many people act like they are perfect but no one is, right? I especially feel this in the parenting section.

I am short (5 feet) small frame, round face, small hands, small eyes, small lips, small nose (everything in me is small!)
My wedding ring is not huge, is actually kinda delicate so is not very visible.
Buying me "adult" clothes is a challenge since I cannot find much in my size and specialty stores are super expensive, so I end up buying junior clothes to economize.
I feel kinda paranoic when I go to the store cause I know I get ugly looks, or like disapointment in people faces like "oh my! look what our society is leading into" type of stuff.

Im only 11 weeks and 5 days pregnant I went for my 12 weeks scan at the beginning of the week and already counting down the days until my next one! getting my tubes tied after i have my baby who is due april 21st. i am a married 24 year old with three kids including the one i am carrying. anyways i was just wondering how long is the hospital stay and how long is the recovery time. i want to get it done the day after i have him and depending on your answers i might just decide on getting an iud (the mirena to be specific) instead.

Hi y'all.... hope u can help me.
Here are the facts. Me n boyf r tryn for a baby. came off pill in Nov - Dec/Jan period normal.... had unprotcted sex around ovulation time in Jan/Feb. So when period was due in Feb it came a day late, but was really strange. Very very light and only lasted three days. Im ALWAYS regular and heavy. This period i only had to use a panty liner - usually using tampons and towels for first two days!! Anyway I had been having mild lower abdom cramps for about a week before this bleed which again is not normal, and this was still going on. Now two weeks later, im still getting mild pain in low abdom and am exhausted, feeling on off queesy, skin broke out - not normal and on off low back ache. Im sure your thinking - course your pregnant!! but...heres the prob - three neg tests!!!!!

Whats going on????

My sister had a baby 4 weeks ago and had unprotected sex with her partner. She hasnt had a period yet but am sure you can get pregnant without having one is this right?
My friend got pregnant 2 mths after having her first but is it to early for my sis to get pregnant again? Am i over reacting?

i have been sick for about 3 weeks now....flu like....cold like....have not got anybetter.....i feel tired all the time i cant even stay awake for more then 2 hours with out taking a nap....certian smells get to me but im not to the point where i wont to vomit all the time....can i be pregnant

Me & hubby have decided its time we tried for a baby. Ive just turned 29 but dealing with the birth of a child and then being responsible for it for the rest of my life freaks me out so much!
Can i cope with pregnancy? Birth? caring for the child? dealing with what life throws at me? those little emergency panics that parents have when something happens to a child?
Did anyone else feel this way before having their child?

Last night as my son and I were making ice experiments I explained to him that he should never lick the ice/frost in the freezer because his tongue will get really stuck. I remember I did as a child and wondered how may other kids may have done the same thing! LOL! Anybody else?

my first which is a girl was 8lb 9oz born at term and my 2nd was born 2 weeks early and weighed 9lb and is a girl born less then a year after her big sister.
they say she would have been 11 lbs at term OUCH.
