The hospital stay is just as long as the baby needs to be there. A tuble is not somthing that will take a long time to heal, but what you should think about is that about 80% of women that do this end up with a total hysterectomy within five years of the tubligation. At your age now that could mean years of hormone replacement threapy and more cancer risks. talk this over with your Dr's. Maybe your husband could get a vasectomy it would be easier for him. Good Luck.

First things first... you should talk to your doctor and discuss your options. If you are not 110% sure that you're done having kids, then stick with another form of BC.

On the other hand... if you do decide to have your tubes tied after the baby is born... they can generally do this the day after delivery while in the hospital... and recovery will be nothing more than what you'll already be going thru. Generally, you will go home with your baby at the same time as if you did NOT have the surgery!

Good luck! I'm pregnant and getting tubes tied right after delivery too!

You are talking about surgery that will lay you up for awhile. Tell your hubby to get a vasectomy...it's an out patient procedure and alot less invasive.
