Looking for a logical answer, I will ignore any answers with religious influence or the ones that are too subjective or based only on instincts (I consider that WE have also a thing to say about it...)

I'm trying very hard to understand, the reason for which people have children. There must be a very good explanation for why are we in charge to take the decision for a new life.
I don't mean that I don't want a child or that I want one.
But do you know why to have? Do you thing of her/his happiness and do you have a guarantee for what you think ... you might be wrong as well.

My husband is attractive, but I always wanted to marry someone really tall with green eyes and dark wavy hair. He has none of those qualities. I know it is a minor thing, but sometimes I wish I could go back and wait for someone with those three qualities. I wanted my children to have green eyes. There are only brown eyes on either side of our families. How do I keep myself content on the fact that my children will never have green eyes or dark wavy hair?

I finally went to the doctor today about my chronic insomnia, anxiety, and lightheadedness. My doc says that it's PPD and prescribed a mild anti-depressant. Is it normal (I've had the insomnia for almost two years now) to have PPD this late after brith? My daughter is a preemie and yep, I blame myself for her early and complicated delivery also.

Has anybody experienced a slight pain after urination and general soreness in the vaginal area during urination, while breastfeeding ? I was recently treated for a bladder infection and I wonder if the infection has remained. The doc. says its because of breastfeeding and the infection is gone. Anyone experience something similar?

Well, I don't know if this is an issue worth worrying about, but please help me - any advice is appreciated.
On September 1st-2nd I ovulated. On the 8th - 12th, I was with this guy and we "fooled around". Although we never did engage in sex, I am still concerned. He fingered me, but never was inside me. Just on the outside. Also, he *might* have had dry precum on his fingers, I am not sure but even though he told me (afterwards) that he didn't, I am concerned.
Don't human eggs survive for only 24-48 hours? If this is the case, my egg (which I ovulated on the 1st to 2nd of sept.) should have been disintigrated, right?

Well, I had my period on the 15th of september, 16th of October ,after some delay, and 13th of November; all lasting around 5 days or so. My period for December was due on the 13th (my cycle fluctuates from 28-30 days) and december 13th marked the 28th day. I have yet to get a period, I am freaking out. I have PMS symptoms, but still no period.Could I still be pregnant?

my aunts are identical twins both had 4 children aunt 1 had 3 girls and 1 boy and had 3 c-sections and i natural delivery, aunt 2 has 3 boys and 1 girl and only had one section and 3 natural. ( i find this facinating as labour/ delivery wasnt elective section etc. and they obviosly didnt chose the kids gender.

btw they didnt see each other for 6 yrs, living at opposite ends of the country and lost toch, and the first time they meet up they had both had the same hair cut, and dyed it exactly the same colour

lots of similarites happened between my aunts.

any body else had this experience.

I am just wanting to hear what some of you that were trying to conceive took, and what you think was the big one that helped you get pregnant. Such as certain vitamins, Ovulation Predictor Kits, Charting, Supplements. and so on let me know what you used to help you out.
Thanks

This month I only took the first few days of birth control and then decided to stop for specific reasons. It seems like I have a light period.. Is this normal? Should I expect a "normal" 5 day period. Or did I screw myself over and get pregnant?

My friend Kelly is *extremely* pregnant with twins(about 7 months). We go baby stuff shopping a lot, and to her doctor's appointments.

When we are out walking, men and women will randomly walk up to her and put their hands on her stomach. Sometimes children, too, but Kelly doesn't mind that as much.

Anyway, Kelly will calmly and nicely tell the stranger that she is uncomfortable with people touching her stomach, and instead of apologizing, most of the people get a major attitude and storm off. One man even had the nerve to say "Well then don't be pregnant!!" We had never seen this man before!!

Kelly doesn't feel like she has to stay in her home until she has these kids. I've even gone as far as to get her a t-shirt that says "Unless you're a doctor, HANDS OFF" that everyone finds highly amusing (even strangers).

Why do people view pregnant women's bellies as common public area, and why do they get so offended when nicely asked to keep their hands to themselves?

My Company provides a $5,000 benefit once the adoption is finalized. However, international adoptions cost above and beyond $20,000. I'm hoping to lobby my employer to increase the adoption credit and I'm wondering if anyone out there has a benefit greater than $5,000?

Our six year old son has been in speech and math title 1 since he was 4, and doesnt seem to be progressing very well. He cannot even read 3 letter words at times. He can sound out SOME letters and sound out words but cannot put the sounds together to make the words. He sometimes guesses when he cannot get it. And when he doesnt understand the instructions or something like that he guesses. His teachers keep saying he will grow out of it, He cannot stay focused, and he can say a word over and over again and then all of the sudden forget the word. I dont understand this...does this sound familiar to anyone? I need to get him the help he needs if he needs it but im not sure if im over reacting?
