I had a c section nearly 4 years ago and I'm still numb over my scar. However, it's so low down (the surgeon did a really good job) that I don't even know it's there. If you're still feeling sore round there, after 3 months, I would go and see your GP as it may have become a little infected. Congratulations on your baby!

Hi I had my son 7 years ago with a cesearean section and I had no numb, But I gave birth to my daughter 6 months ago and my right top of my pubic bone is numb, my doctor says that it will take a while for it to become normal again, some nerves were cut, so I would not worry, I know what you are talking about

I had a c-section 13 months ago, and I still have slight numbness around the incision site. Part of my lower abdomen is still slightly numb and some parts of my lower tummy if pinched hurt really badly. Although some of the numbness that I have has diminished over time, I expect that it might get better with time. You have to keep in mind that a c-section is considered major abdominal surgery, you had muscles and nerves that were cut, the numbness may completely dissipate but parts could very well remain slightly numb. Anytime nerves or muscles are cut like that it is hard for them to completely heal themselves. My doctor assured me that what I was going through was completely normal. If you are still feeling a bit unsure don't be afraid to contact your doctor.
Best of luck to you, and CONGRATS on your new little one.

TOTALY NORMAL and very common sweety!!!

I had both my babies by c-section.....my first one, it was numb right above the incision but I could feel everything right below the cut. Then with my second one, the numbness spread but only above the cut....I can feel right under the cut still even after my second one...weird...but I know it's TOTALY NORMAL to have this numbness....and chances of it going away is rare. My mother in-law had her kids
c-section 28 years ago and she still has the same numbness..sucks but you will be fine. Yes, the doctors cut your tissue right up didn't they...lol...but some women won't have much numbness as much as others....it's all how your body reacts to the surgery....like my first one...not as much numbness but more numbness with my second one.

Don't worry....if you do....you can ask your doctor for more light on that for ya!

Hi

I have had 2 c-sections - and particulalry with my first I did experience numbness and pain. However the numbness did go after a while as did the pain as things healed. I was advised it can take up to 18 months for your body to fully recover. The numbness went as nerves repaired as did the pain as the internal stitching healed.

It will get better - i promise.

I know exactly what you mean. I had that numbness until about 6 months after the operation. I was worried because I thought it was a bit odd, but the feeling did come back.
It still (one year later) fels a bit sore sometimes, and if I put pressure on it (ie if my baby girl is climbing over me!) it feels tender.
Good luck with your recovery.x

I've had 2 sections, one in April last year and one in August this year. I was still numb around the scar when I had the second one. I'm not sure if the feeling will ever come back.
Also, I have noticed that where they shaved me before my first one, my short & curlies never grew back there!! Has that happened to anyone else!!??

Most of it should go away, but I still have some numbness and my daughter is 18 months old. Your body is still healing inside, which may be causing the sensitivity under the skin. If you are really concerned, then you should have your OB check it.

i had a c-section 11 months ago and i have numbness near to the scar, but if your skin is very sensitive and feel raw you should probably go and see your Dr as you could have an infection in your wound.
