abortion should be allowed, but i think it should be stopped at 12 weeks. you seem to forget that a lot of people get pregnant whilst using contraception, and it wasnt them being silly!!

You say 'she' like it is something a woman does alone! It takes two. Have you ever had a one night stand? Do you always take all the responsibility for ensuring contraception is used?Pregnancy is a repercussion of choosing to have sex, however it is a repercussion for the man too. What would you do if a woman you slept with fell pregnant as a result. Would you stick around? Would you be willing to raise that child alone? This is not an attack, this is directed at all who are reading this. I think any man who is not willing to take that unintended child and raise it alone has no right even having an opinion about abortion.
For the record, I am against abortion as a form of contraception. I do beleive there are times when abortion may be neccessary. Abortion should not be illegal, but better education is neccessary, this is the responsibility of the the government and even more importantly, PARENTS.

I can say that I can see valid points in both sides of the argument. If a person chooses to have sex then they should be prepared for the consequences. But at the same time not every pregnancy is a result of consensual sex. So should that poor girl/woman be forced to carry a child that was a product of her violation? Or what if both parties were responsible and practiced safer sex and a child resulted anyway?

Now I do disagree with women using it as a form of birth control after the fact. Those women usually end up having so many that it prevents them from getting pregnant again.

So my answer is "yes" women should have the right to choose, because who am I to force my will on her. I have said this many times before, I would never choose to abort, but that is the thing, I would never "choose" to do so. It is still my choice.

Honestly I think that if men were the ones whom had their bodies taken over for 40 weeks the argument wouldn't be this heated.

no they shouldn't.............i agree whole heartedly.. at the end of it all a baby is the innocent one in it all.. if a woman dont want a child then they ough to think bout unprotected sex.... a child in the womb at 12 weeks has all its features, its still tiny but its all formed so for the man says that abortion is ok in the first 90 days of pregancy is ok- its not ,thats a child in there now not just a blob... there should be a law or somethin out there bout abortion just cant happen. theres many of a childless couple would give there life for the chance to be a parent, and then theres the other side who wouldnt think twice bout aborting 2 or 3 children.... tell me how is this world fair....u no wat bugs me ppl who have had an abortion come on and say they would love a baby now and regret havin the abortion-as far as im concerned they never deserve another baby.if they hadn't aborted the baby in the 1st place they would have had there bundle of joy

because not all abortions are from just having sex and not wanting the consequences. For women who have been raped or incest victims I believe it is a their choice. I'm pro-choice but those are the only conditions I belive in abortion. I don't believe that there is an excuse to use it as a form of birth control but some instances call for it. If i was raped and became pregnant because of it I would probably consider abortion because that child was not born from the love of my husband and therefore I couldn't stand carrying the child. Take a 15 year old girl, she got pregnant as a result of rape from her father or another relative. Should she be forced to carry the child that she wasn't ment to have and that would only remind her of the horror of the rape she received?

did the baby ask to be conceived? He/she did not have a choice. So when then women had sex and became pregnant that was her choice, except in rape of course. As hard as it would be to become pregnant by rape- that child is innocent. Yes the woman and the man have a choice after preg. occurs- the choice would be to choose life- Known fact- the numbers of chromosones are there from conception- the baby heart beats at 3 weeks after conception, EVERYTHING is there, just smaller. If it is illegal to kill a condor egg and then there is a HUGE fine, how much more so should it be when children are made in the image of God.

Abortion should not be used as birth control, in the standard sense. If, however, a woman becomes pregnant due to rape or if the fetus is suffering from severe deformity / handicap and is not likely to survive or will suffer a minimal quality of life, then the right to choose should be at the woman's disposal.

I believe in choice, i believe in keeping abortion legal tho it is not something i personally would do. i also do not believe it should be used as a form of birth control. i am living proof that you can get pregnant on "the pill" keep it legal to keep it safe,, how many women died because they were desperate for an aboration? traveling dr.s with rusty tools etc. or wire coat hangers...
and then you have those people who became pregnant as a result of violence..
ok ive said my piece and yes a woman should have the right to choose.

and i believe the father should know as well tho after all it takes 2 to tango

that's easy for a man to say.... but really who choice is it?? its not your body its not your nine months of pain your not going to get fat with streach marks... hell at anytime you could just walk out of that child's life and never have to admit to having a child.. a woman on the other hand does.. it's not only emotionally but physically hard on a woman to have a child. that's y good ol America gives us choices... as long as its done within the 1st trimester it should be allowed people make mistakes like having sex and getting pregnant who should you be to say they have to lIve with it forever??? ive had an abortion and I AM NOT ashamed of it and i am now 25 weeks pregnant.. and abortion crossed my mind once or twice this time around too.. but it doesn't make me a bad person!!!!!!!!! both times I've gotten pregnant i was on birth controll !!!!!!!

...OMG...the name fits...shall i give you an example...so yes a woman has sex it can lead to pregnancy...it takes two, for a start...i am 36 and have a four year old son ...we could not be happier...but when i was 17 i fell pregnant whilst on the pill, in a long term relationship and in the middle of college..i was set to have the child until i talked to my mother...she pointed out what i now understand...sometimes life is harsh and it was not fair..i was taking precautions but was that worth potentially trashing not just my life but the TINY blob inside me...i was not capable of motherhood and i would have had no man around...he did the deed and RAN...now my son has all he needs...he is provided for..by me...single mum..so ..yes..fell pregnant at 32..the dad ran..or maybe i did..but not once did i doubt my love or commitment to my son..not even when i was told..at three months gestation..he would be downs syndrome or autistic...i loved him...my boy...and he is fine for the record..but you mate, you wanna try being female...we do get the best deal in life..no doubt...but this you clearly will not agree with or understand...if you have one..i pity your missus..happy hols redneck.....
