Background: I'm currently 16 weeks pregnant with my second child. I'm actually still nursing my first. He'll be 14-15 months when this baby is born. I haven't decided whether or not I'll wean him or tandem nurse.

Problems: I would at least try tandem feeding, but I'm afraid of what will happen if I decide it's too hard. I imagine he would be very resentful if I wean him cold turkey after the baby is born. I'm mildly depressed more often than not and I had awful PPD after my son was born. I absolutely hated nursing and if it hadn't been for my husband's support, I most definitely would have given up. I really didn't enjoy breastfeeding until my son was about 3-4 months old.

Since my son will be over 1 year, if I have to choose, I will nurse the newborn. But if anyone has any tips or advice to get me through tandem nursing, that would be great. And if anyone has any ideas on how I can make breastfeeding more pleasant in general this time, that would be great too.

Thanks

After being abstinent for 9 months is it okay to drink a little or does it go into the milk and harm the baby?

In addition to allowing the family dog to lick her baby in its' face/mouth, my co-worker also lets her daughter eat off the table in restaurants.

We went to a Chinese take-out place over the weekend and me and my buddy both ate out of plates. My friend then took food from her plate and put it on the table for the baby to eat.

I offered to let the baby use the spare plate my soup bowl was on top of, but she was like ,"No that's okay".

When my daughter was a baby, my wife was really cautious about stuff like this. Neither of us let the baby eat off the table.

I am throwing a shower for my sister in law. I need good ideas for games, maybe something that isn't done all the time. What are some fun ones you have played at baby showers?

I was just going through my girls bath toys and they all have a white residue on them I threw most of them out just cause I think they should be replaced often but how often. Those squirty toys I often find if I don't end up putting them away don't get emptied and the next time they have a bath there is black stuff that comes out what is this.

Hello,
I had a baby on September 1. I exclusively breast fed for two weeks and she was not gaining weight. I tried for a week to supplement with formula and she still lost weight after the third week. Then I started giving her more formula and she began gaining weight. At the time I breastfeeding almost every hour or more. I also pumped and the most I have ever gotten at one time after 45 mins was barely three ounces. I have now done mostly formula, but I still get a little discharge from my nipples if I sqeeze them. Is there any way I can get my supply back up to do breastfeeding exclusively? I have a good medela pump and I work 40 hrs a week, where I could go home for max an hour a day to pump. Also, just so you know, my bra size never changed during of after pregnancy. Is that normal?

My baby boy is a truly happy and energetic baby......... Always playing, trying to grab things and cuddling........ That is when he is being held, not neccesarily be me, but by anone. It seems like he wants a pair of legs to get around. I've bought him playmats and I get down on the floor with him, but no sirey. He wants to be high and on the same level as us.... the older ones :) He is a little strong willed so letting him cry it out and entertain himself is not an option. If he's entertained, in the stroller, the car seat (you know - on the go.......) he's fine, but I can't even put him down on the floor to watch tv. He tries standing up using whatever he can find (the bedskirt, furniture, my pants :) ) - but he's hit himself pretty bad like that... I've caught him crawling a few times so I know he can do it. But if I'm watching he will sit pretty with his hands up waiting for me to get him, no matter how long he has to wait. Any suggestions on how 2 help him b more indep Thx!

I am 32 weeks, with a much planned baby boy!!! I can only take an 8 week maternity leave, and then my son will have to be in daycare. I have said from the begining that i intend to formula feed my baby, as it will be best for my schedule, and for my husband and him to bond. FOR THOSE THAT FORMULA FED.. how did you deal with all the criticism?? I swear!!! people ask me how i intend to nourish my baby, and then when i tell them.. they chastize me!!!!

He moves and wiggles all over the place when I try and change his diaper or putting clothes on him, He would much rather roll away form me. Is their anyway I can get him to stop? If we didn't have the battle everyday it wouldn't take as long to get him ready. Just wondering if their is a trick to this :) Thats all.

My son is 6 months old this week and he does not have any teeth. He RARELY cries or whines but the last couple of days, maybe even almost a week, he gets very fussy at bedtime, cries in his sleep and wakes almost every hour crying and fussing. He gnaws on everything in sight all the time but his gums are not swollen, no white areas, no teeth peeking through. Is this a sign of teething, the constant fussing at nighttime only?

Im due January 4th and confused about where to have the newborn sleep. I have a baby safety class in 2 weeks, but am getting the babies room ready now so would like to know what I need ready.

I have a crib and a pack n play that has a basinette. I assembled the basinette and the hooded part kept coming un-velcroed. It's dissapointing.

But anyways, where should the newborn sleep & for how long? When is it safe for baby to sleep in crib?
