Hey all. I'm just wondering from those who have "been there done that" which is easier to heal from - a c-section or a bad vaginal tear. With my first baby, I tore really, really bad (it took half an hour to stitch me up), I couldn't sit down for a whole month (either had to lay down, half way lay down, or stand) and it took almost a year to heal and even now (2 years later) I still have pain in the scar area at times to the point where my husband and I can't do anything so to speak. I'm just wondering what your experiences with c-sections were - most of my friends have had c-sections and they were back to normal within 2 to 4 weeks. I think that I'd rather have an abdominal incision than another really bad vaginal tear, and I'm afraid that I'll tear worse this time around (I'm 6 months pregnant with baby #2). Any experiences / advice, would definitely be welcome! Thanks in advance and God bless!

I am a work-at-home mom who will be going back to work shortly. Our new nanny will be starting.

I would really like us to have a good working relationship and be on the best terms. For her, I would like this to be a very positive work experience and as she has been looking for a long term position, that she will stay with us for many years to come.

I have had some pretty miserable bosses before so I understand that her happiness or lack of it at work largely will be in my hands.

Parents - Any tips for me?

Nannies - Any particular reasons why you would choose to leave a job? Or what makes your job especially difficult? How could the parents help to make life easier?

Okay I had my beautiful baby girl on Monday, 11/19/2007. and starting yesterday, or the day before, I feel like everything is going wrong. I can't seem to quit crying! I don't leave my bedroom. I do take care of my baby, as I do love her, and she means the world to me, but I feel like I have fallen into quicksand and I can't get out!!! Will This feeling go away, or do I need to mention this to my doctor?

FYI: I live by myself with no family near by, and I am a single mom! (Dad is not in the picture at all, I am 22 yrs old!)

Please help me... I am so confused!!!

I really am, its so weird. I can't wait to feel my baby emerging from me. I watched a childbirth video on youtube and actually got aroused because it was so beautiful!! No epi for me. I just cant wait to hold my pumpkin and I find it truly amazing that this baby that my husband put inside me emerges from that little opening. Am i weird for being excited?

My baby is 3 months old and is having trouble going to the bathroom. She is having trouble going pooped and I was wondering what I should do or what will help her go pooped. It would take her like 3 or 4 days before she would go pooped or sometime a week or 2. Please help me.

Okay...I know babies cry, and I know babies are picky..believe me!!!
This baby that I recently watched is so pissed off all of the time.....he screams so loud that no sound comes out half the time, and poop squirts out..haha!! AND, he is also very very tense and stiff. He is so tense that his back arches backward and his toes stick up...its like he cannot relax...he also has no facial expressions yet ( he does not smile)...he makes this pissed off face, and cries...otherwise he has a blank stare.
Im not sure if this is normal or not....he acts like this at his own home too.
All other babies I have watched do not act like this at all....I have seen babies cry, but never to that extreme!

please help!

I want to make our older Snugride car seat more comfortable for our 1-month newborn. After seeing these for sale on ebay I'm wondering if you can just insert them into any Snugride car seat.
Although ours is equipped with the standard head foam, I don't think it ever came with the full sized one that covers the whole seat.

My daughter will be 1 yr old on Dec. 4th. I have been slowly giving her milk and she has been doing great with it. The day of her 1st bday and I totally getting rid of the formula. Do I also stop with the cereal too? She doesn't have the cereal too much, just normally at night and during her nap. Anyhow, I want to break her from the bottle as soon as possible too so should I take her formula, cereal and bottle away from her completely when she turns 1? She also has to have a binkie at night and I want to take that too, but not sure if I should do all of this at one time.

That not only will he be a wimp, but he will never be a real ladies man? I shouldn't have to mention this, but it's true. Women SAY they want a sensitive man, but if the man really follows this advice, his ability to attract multiple women and get sex will be next to zero, lucky to get even ONE girl. The man's chances will be A LOT BETTER if he starts being a man with confidence and not so damn sensitive all the time where his chances of attracting and having sex with women will be very small.

Wouldn't you rather your son grow up to have success with women to the point that he's happy and satisfied and not this sensitive wimp with little success, lucky to get even one girl?

I'm just wondering if any other mom's have experienced having a very underweight baby?!

My daughter will be 12 months old in about three days, she weighs 13lbs 12oz ... she's only gained 6oz in the last 6 months.

She eats more than my three year old, she's been tested for all sorts of possible medical problems (ceeliack, turner syndrome, genetics counselling etc...) and we've visited a dietician.

She was 5lbs 2oz when born, I thought babies at the very least tripled their weight by 12 months. She is breastfed and is currently starting to be weaned directly to homo milk mixed with whipping cream (advise of dietician)

Everyone seems to baffled and I just need some reassurance that she's not completely abnormal or if there is something else people are missing that will help her? I'm really starting to get worried.

We are going to see the family doctor end of the week for her immunizations, but he's just as clueless. She's seen so many specialists!

Thank you!

It has been a bit hard at times as i have gone back to work but when i am not there in the day she is fine without the milk but if i'm there she expects it on tap. now she is the little bit older i have stopped feeding her in publ;ic but my mum and my partner think that i should give up because she is not a great sleeper and they think this is the reason why, what shall i do?

I have thus far avoided answering directly by saying she is sweet (she is) or commenting on her pretty curly hair, but why is my friend pressing the issue? Should I lie and just say she's pretty when she literally looks like a stand-in from the movie Gremlins?

Hey- before you attack me, I've been there. I never tried to force anyone to say my not-so-cute baby was attractive, because I knew he wasn't! I know that her baby is a gift and I love them both to death, but I just wish she would drop the subject!

He started out wonderful breastfeeding, but at around 3 weeks seemed to get frustrated and would do the head bobble-thing and cry. So I gave him a bottle of pumped milk and he seemed to like it better, he also sleeps better and longer after taking the bottle. However, I feel bad about giving him a bottle, I really wanted to breastfeed. Anyone else go through this? All advice welcome.

My niece is almost 4 months. Right now she has diarrhea and a diaper rash. How can we cure it? Is there a virus for diarrhea? Because my sister said that she might of got it from the other babies at her daycare because last week a lot of them had diarrhea.

Okay well my daughter at first about a month ago got a small circlular spot on her butt that was chapped red skin then it started to spread. Well I thought it was just from the cold weather and put ointment on it then it seemed to get a little better then all of a sudden it has spread all over her front area, bottom area and even above her diaper in front and on her back is starting to get little bumps. What is this? She is now 6 monthes and its just become this bad. We did do things differently this month so do you think it could be either one? Well we normally get Luvs diapers then we got some pampers after they were gone. Now she had the pampers swaddlers the whole time she could wear 1's and 2's but we did not see a difference. Is it possible for a different cemicle or material to be in swaddlers vs crusiers? Also we used a diaper rash ointment that her pediatrician gave us called butt paste said it was something they recommended? Please any advise or experience?
