My niece is almost 4 months. Right now she has diarrhea and a diaper rash. How can we cure it? Is there a virus for diarrhea? Because my sister said that she might of got it from the other babies at her daycare because last week a lot of them had diarrhea.

Hi there....
There are a tons of virus' that have diarrhea as a symptom. It is of vital importance that caretakers wash there hands thoroughly and changing areas and toys are disinfected.
To cure the diaper rash, put Balmex and change diapers when they are soiled and or wet. Let her go bare bottom, soak her bottom in a tup. Even try cornstarch.
For diarrhea, call her pediatrician. They usually recommend to continue breastfeeding or bottle feeding, and may want to see her, or tell you to give her pedialyte. Good luck. Hope she feels better fast!

A diaper rash is common with diarrhea and can be treated as a normal diaper rash would be. The diarrhea can be caused by a virus or bacteria. Often a stomach flu is the culprit and usually runs it's course within hours to days. A week is normal but not typical, on avg. the 'bug' takes 2-4 days to leave the system. Make sure you are providing plenty of formula/breastmilk to prevent dehydration. Call her doctor as she is young and vulnerable. If the diarrhea becomes chronic (continues over a longer length of time) another underlying issue may be to blame. This is less likely. Changes in formula can cause a digestive upset as well.

Diarrhea can be caused by several things. You really have to do a careful process of elimination to see what might be causing it.
Is she formula fed? Have you recently changed anything in her normal diet? Are you giving her water or juice in a bottle?

Another possibility is always some type of stomech or intestinal "bug". It's possible she picked it up at daycare, especially being so little and having her hands in her mouth constantly (I'm assuming). Could you inquire with your daycare provider about what it was that the children had? Depending what it was, you may want to do a visit with your Pediatrician. Just to be on the safe side.

How long has she had the diarreah? It can cause dehydration quickly in infants, so stay on top of regular feedings. And dont offer juice, water or Pedialite unless specifically instructed to do so by her Doctor.

For the rash, use a cream like Desitin or Balmex, and change her diaper often. Also, try letting her bottom air out if you can. Lay her on a couple towels and leave her diaperless for 10 minutes or so. Sometimes a rash can benefit from being able to breathe.

When all else fails, call the Doc! That's what they're there for :)

Tell her to give the baby Pedialyte. My 3 year-old has been sick with throwing up, diarrhea, and fever since Wed afternoon and finally is feeling better tonight. What I found that worked better for him was using aloe gel on his butt. Diaper rash cream made him scream horribly.

stomach flu bugs cause diarrhea and are considered a virus so yes a virus can cause that...Also the diarrhea will cause a rash easily. Use a good quality barrier cream...personally I use aquafor and be sure to give a bit of pedialyte to help balance her electrolytes.

Diarrhea and viruses go hand in hand.

Get a good diaper rash cream - my favourite is Desitin. It's got a good high zinc oxide %age...so it creates a barrier and helps get rid of the rash at the same time.

attempt changing the type of diaper you're utilising. while you're utilising Pampers or Luvs you may desire to alter those, using fact they have perfumes and alcohol in them. i'm not sure approximately the different producers, so in basic terms be rather careful for awhile once you purchase the diapers. that's advisable to attempt Tushies diapers or seventh technology Diapers till the rash has healed. be confident to bathe you little one accepted. once you alter is diaper in basic terms be confident you do no longer use any diaper wipes. Use basically heat water and Cotton balls, or I used Kleenex that have been unscented with a diaper rash spray that I have been given from the well being nutrition keep. On ideal of that, I have been given some one hundred% Corn Starch from the baking isle interior the keep. The corn starch they sell in interior the little one powder bottle has chemical components in it. positioned some Vaseline on the little one's backside first then positioned the corn starch on. i might quite get you son appeared at via a doctor A.S.A.P. Take him to the ER in case you may desire to.
