Someone suggested on one of my other questions to get my 4 week old daughter to keep drinking fluids (question- weird symptoms could this be a sign of something else). Well she is only drinking 1-2 oz at a time and it is about every 1-3 hours. I cant get her to drink more. She has been to the doctor and he said just keep offering it. What do I do?

My 5 month old is strictly breastfed. We have tried rice cereal mixed with breastmilk 3 times and I think we are going to wait until 6 months to start a food ritual. His doctor told me at 4 months I could start him on solids but I don't feel as if it is time yet.
When is a good time to introduce a sippy cup?
What to put in the sippy cup?
When should I give him water?
First foods other than cereal?
Right now all he gets is my milk and the occasional "milkshake"......(I just shake my chest before he nurses)
I plan on nursing past a year. Hopefully if all goes well.

The New York City Health and Hospitals Corporation (HHC) announced that its 11 public hospitals will exclude free baby formula samples from gift bags to new mothers, will ban formula promotion materials from labor and delivery units and will encourage initiation of breastfeeding in the baby’s first hour as part of a campaign to increase exclusive breastfeeding and improve infant health.
Do you think it's right for them to do that?

My son's girlfriend has said she "hates" this baby. He was a preemie, and spent the first weeks of his life in the NICU about an hours drive away. He is an excellent baby, such a bundle of joy. I bonded with both of my boys instantly, so I'm having a hard time understanding this. Can anyone shed some light on this for me? (He is 4 months old now.)

my 1 mth old was sent to Childrens Hospital to check for respritory distress due to "grunitng" when exhaling and wheezing noises; docotrs took x-rays stating nothing wrong and noises normal, but he wouldn't make the noises in the hopsital when the doctors or nurses where tthere. He did them in front of the pediatrician that refered us to the hospital and so i then video taped him and played it to the pediatrician who is now refering us to a pulminolgist .... anyone had such problems... he really grunts alot when laying on his back and can only sleep like and hr at a time.... we rolled him on his belly two nights ago and he sleeps for 3 hrs on average (please no SID's freak outs,we are careful to watch him all night but he can't get any sleep otherwise which made him just screaming for lack of sleep) but his grunting mostly goes away when on his belly and he sleeps .... but now he stopped pooping ... ???

She is almost 9 months old. She can sleep in the crib when she is really dead tired........but if she realizes she is being put in the crib, she wakes up right away and throws almost a mini-crying tantrum. She also fights going to sleep so much at night. Is there something that will calm her down a little before we want to put her sleep for the night?

we just brought our daugher home yesterday afternoon after a c-section on tuesday morning. I just wanted someone elses opnion about her feeding, she doesnt eat very much at all, she only will take about 1/2-1oz of her bottle at a time which is like every 11/2-3hrs the nuses said it was normal for a newborn and they didnt say nething to me about it, but im wondering when this might turn into a problem because im afraid she wont gain any weight, should i just wait it out and see if she eventauly starts eating more? or should i call and talk to the dr's office? ive been thinking that the nurses at the hospital would have said somthing if there was somthing wrong, but they all said she was doing perfect and looked good.
thanks everyone
