I would recommend a food processor until the baby is a little older, than you can switch to a food mill (slightly larger pieces).
I made baby applesauce (all apples, peeled, boiled, pureed) I also made bananas, pears, sweet potato, butternut squash, green beans....anything that is sold in a baby jar, you can make yourself.
I used many many ice cube trays. I would make a 5lb bag of apples into applesauce and pour into ice cube trays, covered in wax paper. I waited until they were frozen and then emptied them into gallon sized freezer bags, labeled and dated.
That way you could make something every week, but you dont' have to make everything every week.
Good luck! Hope your child doesn't eat as much as my boy did!

My son is only 5 weeks old, but when he starts eating solids I want to use a food processor and puree up some squash, potatoes, apples, carrots, peas and fruits. Also do combinations of these things. Any food processor would work as long as it has the option of puree. I would suggest filling the ice trays with different kinds and as you need it, twist the tray like an ice cube and pop it out and thaw in the microwaze. Don't forget which color is which.

I just used a blender or food processor. Then you can freeze it in an ice cube tray once their frozen break them free put them in ziplock bags date them and what is in them and put them in a deep freezer. If you plan to make that much ahead of time. I bought some stuff like the fruits and used the containers afterwards. I would cook dinner and then just use the veggies meat or what ever for my sons dinner that night. Even chicken soup. maybe I would make up enough for the next days lunch but I never kept to much extra and he always ate the same thing we ate.

i think it is black and decker. it is a mini food processor and works GREAT. i would steam veggies (squash, sweet potatoes, green beans, pees, carrots, etc) and then run thru the processor. after i would put in ice cube trays to freeze, after frozen put them in zip top bag to store. you can also do peaches, bananas, applesauce, etc. once the twins moved on to other foods i would boil chicken, use the water from that to make rice and then puree the both of them together (chicken/rice dinner it was the kids favorite. ) use your imagination as long as you do not use strong seasonings or the such just about anything would be ok.
