Someone suggested on one of my other questions to get my 4 week old daughter to keep drinking fluids (question- weird symptoms could this be a sign of something else). Well she is only drinking 1-2 oz at a time and it is about every 1-3 hours. I cant get her to drink more. She has been to the doctor and he said just keep offering it. What do I do?

My daughter usually drinks around 4-5 ounces and a 4 week old should never only drink 1-2 oz thats how much a newborn drinks in the hospital.

My middle son did the same thing. He ended up at 2wks old in the hospital. They never did find out what was wrong but they gave him IV fluids and got better in a couple days. As long as she's drinking something right now thats good! Got to think that their stomach's are tiny. If she's drinking 2 oz every hr thats quite a bit. What I was do is try to stretch it to the 3hrs and if she eats every 3hrs she'll probably eat more. Other idea is try Soy based formula. All 3 of my kids had to eat that. Their bellies couldn't handle the milk based. If she seems to have gas or belly pain I would definately try that. My one son was I switched him to Soy, ate like a piggy, lol. Hope this helps for ya.
