Not at all. He is not at all late. Every baby does thing at their own pace. Is everything else normal and on target? I bet it is, so no need to worry. Although I know it is hard not to worry. My daughter was nine months old when she sat up on her own. She started to crawl around then too. And didn't walk until 14 or 15 months. :)

I wouldn't be too worried my son didn't sit up till he was 9 months old he was also 2 months premature but my sis baby was born on time and didn't sit up till then. My little one sat up and crawled the same week so just be ready!!!! Also when I worked at a mothers day out program there was a girl there who did not sit up till she was 1 and didn't walk till 2 her mom kept taking her to the dr to make sure all was ok and they dr just kept telling her babies do things on their own time. Good Luck

Not worried, no. My almost 7 month old is trying to sit up on her own, but still needs help. I'm trying my hardest to give her lots of opportunities to try to sit up so that her little abdominal muscles can strengthen. Good luck

Not at all, each baby develops at their own pace. My second didn't until he was 8 months, but my first did at almost 6 months. No big deal don't worry.

you could help him "experience" what that's like by means of putting muscle tissue in that place. I used to place my toddlers wedged in settee corner so they does not fall to the left or perfect. Then I place cushions below their palms so the palms have been at ninety degree perspective to physique & they could have leverage to straighten themselves on their own whilst construction muscle tissue to hold a sitting place. I hadn't planned that that they had learn how to sit down down, this became just to maintain them in a secure place with sturdy companion and young toddlers view to maintain their pursuits. They the two began sitting without help at 6 months. - Necessity IS the mum of invention!

don't worry quite yet- he'll probably do it soon. Practice with him- supporting him and slowly letting go a bit for just a second and right him again each time he starts to lean. He'll get the right muscles working this way.

No, i bet he could if he wanted, my 7 month old son isn't but he is crawling like a champ pulling himself up ontop of things and attempting to take steps, he whirls around in his walker like it is nothing. You child is perfectly normal and will do it when he is ready.

Every baby develops at different stages. i wouldn't be worried. I have a friend whose baby started crawling at 5 months and another whose baby didn't start until she was over a year. Don't worry about it!! Just have fun with your little one....
