I'm going to be the Godmother for my nephew in a few weeks and I have no idea what to buy him. This baptism is going to be a fancy one as well - if you can believe that. They are renting a hall and having white linen tables and chairs and probably a head table - picture a wedding and this is what this baptism is going to be like. I have never been a Godmother before and I have no idea what to get but I know it's going to have to be something very nice and special. PLEASE HELP!

My son loves canned green beans, peas, etc. I didn't see any preservatives ~ just green beans, salt, and water. But still, it isn't exactly fresh frozen food.

P.S. Canned foods isn't the only thing I feed him. Just as a "side-item" for lunch and dinner.

My friend informed me today that the hospital where she stayed told her that she couldn't eat until she delivered her baby- which was a very long time. She said that she ended up feeling so tired and hungry when it came time to finally deliver. It seems illogical not to eat when your body needs energy to prepare for a major physical event like labor. Has anyone experienced this before? And does anyone know why? Any answers would be greatly appreciated.

Does my son have a diaper rash? There are about 10 little red pimple-like looking bumps above his penis. Then yesterday two of the bumps became white, thin, water blisters, the size of half of my pinky nail.... are these blisters part of the diaper rash? is this a diaper rash? or is it something else? i called his doctor and they said its a diaper rash but the doctor wont be in for another 2 weeks..... he doesnt have a fever or anything... he doesnt complain or cry either.. should i keep him out of the sling? how should i treat it? i use california diaper rash cream.. but its very oily and not dry... and i also have desitin creamy... are there any drier diaper rash creams? is it even a diaper rash???? should i take him to the emergency room? he's not complaining about it at all, but im about to breakdown in tears when i seee it!!!! i feel panicky because i dont know what it is and i dont want it to get worse!!!!

I'm interested to know how much time other people spend playing with their young babies, and what games you play.

My little boy is 3 months old and I talk to him lots and sing nursery rhymes and other songs for him and play little games like 'this little piggy' and read him books and show him the pictures.
But sometimes I do just leave him to kick around on the floor and play with his toys. He seems happy doing this.

Should I be playing with him all the time he is awake? Or should I let him have some time to himself?

What do you do with your little one?

I want to express breast milk so my husband can give my daughter a bottle later.

1) Is it OK for yesterday's and today's pumping results to end up in the same bottle for feeding tonight?

2) Is freshly expressed milk warm or cool? Is it safe to add it to yesterday's collection which has been refrigerated? Or do I need for it to "cool" before I add it?

I would like advice from parents who are or who have co-slept with their newborns. I am looking for advice on what type of sleeper to use, not whether to do it or not. What bed arrangements have worked for you? Anyone have good results with Arm's Reach, Snuggle Nest or similiar, or guardrails. I am looking for info. on the logistics of co-sleeping. My husband sleep on a Cal-King bed, I am rather small, but not tiny and my husband is a large guy, not huge. Any help would be appreciated. Baby not due until January. Thanks.

I breast feed my 6 month old, and plan to keep it up until he's a year.

He does great with stage two baby food, although we dont hold to a strict schedule of when and how much.

I got to thinking about it and realized that if i want to be done around his birthday I should start setting up a plan. What are some things I should implement now to make weaning a transition and NOT a battle of wills?

My biggest one is bed time and at night. Its sooo easy to just pop him on a boob and put him to sleep, or back to sleep... Obviously I dont want that to be the only way he sleeps.

How did other breast feeding moms do it without too much of a battle?

so we're staying at my mothers for awhile. Me and the farther of my 4 month old are having problems, so if we don't work out, i need to think of solutions now.

I have a nice crib for him and it's at the farthers' house. So when baby goes to spend night, i'd rather have him sleep there, everywhere else is dog hair and cat pee... lol

Were going to get a pack-n-play, but i would really like him to associate that with play.. and the bassinet that it comes with, i don't think will hold him. He already weighs 20 lbs and is 27 in long...

So what are there other sleeping solutions for my 4 month old? Links would be great..

nothing too expensvie either =]

all nutrients and oxygen come from the mother, so the baby can survive there, so why force the birth via c-section or vaginal? I think it is because eventually the baby will be to big, as it will continue to grow. Anyone out there know what's up? Thank you people's! Happy hump day!!! :)
