I don't see why not. The salt water might actually help heal the stitches...omg it might hurt though! Good luck.

I would avoid swimming in the salty ocean for at least 6 weeks. Not only will the salt sting you beyond control but i would not want to be in the dirty ocean water with such a new wound. Talk about the makings of a massive infection!!! I would check with the dr before doing so.

We just addressed this question in my child birth class I attended.
The teacher ( a delivery room nurse ) said that we shouldn't take a bath (only showers), or go swimming for at least 4-6 weeks after delivery (c-section or vaginal). This is due to the possibility of infection from bacteria in the water.

Eh, the salt water might dry out the stiches and become very painful.

You shouldn't swim 4-6 wks after birth coz your uterus is still slightly dialated and water can enter you causing infection

Not a good idea. You must be crazy about the ocean to even consider it.

I would say you should wait until after your six weeks check up.

If you started to bleed even a little bit it could attract sharks... just a caution.
