Get it checked out as this could be Impetigo.
Bullous impetigo primarily affects infants and children younger than 2 years. It causes painless, fluid-filled blisters — usually on the trunk, arms and legs. The skin around the blister is usually red and itchy but not sore. The blisters, which break and scab over with a yellow-colored crust, may be large or small, and may last longer than sores from other types of impetigo.

I try and use diaper rash cream/ointment every single time I change my baby's diaper. However, I have used Vaseline once or twice just to see if it makes any difference and I found that Vaseline is just as good as diaper rash cream or ointment and the best part about it is that it's also much cheaper than diaper rash cream! How about that for some good news? As far as baby powder is concerned, I have read in a baby magazine recently that newborns and infants can easily inhale that stuff and possibly choke on it. Not good! I guess it all depends on how much powder you actually use. It's a shame too because I bought quite a few bottles of baby powder before my baby was born.

Some diaper rashes do blister, but in all honesty that doesn't sound like what is going on (to me anyway). Usually diaper rash blisters after it has been untreated (or the treatment hasn't worked) over a fairly long period of time.
If your doctor won't/can't see him go to a walk-in clinic, I don't often say go to a doctor but in this case I think it is better safe than sorry. If there are no walk-in clinics available, personally I think I might go to the ER -particularly as you are panicky that is a clear indication that something is wrong. Moms really do know best most of the time.

Thats not a diaper rash. If anything, Id try to keep a diaper off if you can. 2 kinds of rashes, that might need prescriptions would be thrush or a strep rash, thrush sometimes has white bumps in the mouth. Strep is more of a raised rash, so its probably not that. But Id see if your insurance would let you get him in somewhere sooner.

My son never had anything like that, but is there not a nurse practitioner or another doctor in your pediatrician's office that you can see while the doctor is out? at my son's pediatric office there are several doctors and 2 or 3 nurse practitioners. i always make a butt paste for my son's diaper rash that my doctor gave me the recipe for. take 1/3 desitin (or something with zinc oxide), 1/3 triple antibiotic (like neosporin or polysporin), and corn starch. mix them together in a resealable bowl until they form a paste. it always worked wonders for my son's diaper rash. good luck!

I think you need to call the doctor but go to the store if you dont have any and buy some, CORN STARCH, i use maizena, when my son would get it i would rub that, the creams made him worse.
Also let him air out, leave the diaper off for about 30 minutes.

you should get him in asap since it is sooo hot. My son developed emphatigo (sp) because the dr kept not treating his rash adequately. Be persistent if it persists.
