I had a baby girl who was born 2 months early in June. She was in the incubator for a month and now she's back home healthy although still low weight. It is very disturbing when this happens but I was told babies are stronger than we think they are and this proved right. Good luck!

I am due on October 9th but they are going to induce me on Oct. 2nd if I don't go earlier. Right now your moms baby should weigh about 3-4 pounds and is around 16-18 inches long. She is about 7 weeks and 5 days early. I know the survival rate is very good right now for babies born now. Your mom and baby brother or sister should be fine. The Dr. would have tried other methods if he felt that something bad would happen. Try not worry too much and make sure you help your mom out a lot.

VERY good. Especially if there's a good NICU (Neo-natal Intensive Care Unit) nearby. I know a good many 32 weekers (that's what this baby will be) that are fine. I know a handful of 26 and 27 weekers that are also doing okay. (Less than 26 weeks doesn't happen.)
The baby won't be able to come home right away - that's normal and to be expected because he or she will probably be a little underweight and need some time for their lungs to develop, but there's no reason why they wouldn't be okay.

The baby has an excellent chance to live a healthy normal life. Initially, the baby will spend time in the intensive care unit for babies- her/his lungs won't be quite developed so they will need to help the baby with this. However, this is easy to do and is done all the time with premie babies.
There should be very few problems, if any.
