When I lived in Milwaukee in the 1950's there were no street children. It simply was not allowed. The police checked on any one younger than 18 y/o that was on the street after 10:00PM. If they had no home, they were put into the foster home system or brought back to their parents.
I think it is terrible and a sin that society has become so liberal as to allow children to become and stay homeless.

Street children need love and a stable home to come to. I would take all of them in if I was able.

Very sad. I wish it didn't exist. The poverty.
I also think we need to be careful about discoursing child labor in these kinds of countries. Because, I'm not sure these kids would eat if not for these jobs. And, the alternatives sometimes are horrible (picking thru garbage, etc).

We don't have them where I live, at least I've never seen them. They get put in foster care if they are known to be living on the street.
