NOt all babies do, alot do if they have the ventouse delivery. Its usually because it is pushed through a narrow opening and their skulls are slightly soft and not fused. (soft spot/fontanelle)

Cone Head Baby

Babies have soft skulls to fit through the birth canal, as during the last weeks of your pregnancy you will notice that baby is 'dropping' into your pelvis and getting ready for birth. This pressure on his skull can make their head become slightly coned shaped (or very), along with the direct pushing of baby through the tight birth canal. Babies heads were made for this journey and have soft bones that have not fused toether yet. Within hours you will notice the skull going back to a 'normal' shape and each day that passes the babies head will become more and more round.

Not all babies get 'cone heads', even some babies that are 42 weeks and in the birth canal for ages come out with a perfectly round little head. So, you'll have to wait and see. Most (although not all) babies who are born via C-section have rounder heads, and this is because they aren't pushed through the birth canal (although they do spend time squashed in the pelvis, so they can still be 'cone heads').

When a baby spends a long time being born, their head gets shaped like that because they are being squished in the birth canal. (Babies heads are squishy so they can be born...look at an infant, and you can still see the middle of their head is soft). Anyway, it only lasts a while if the kid has a cone-head.

not all babies have cone heads....when babies are born nautally some times the vaginal opening is not big enough for the head to come through and the baby is pulled out by a suction pump..this suction pump is what gives the cone shape to the babies head...but the skull bones are very malleable at birth upto one and half year...a gentle oil massage puts everythin back in shape

because when the baby has been down in postion or in ur crvix for a while and ur pushing they have to fit their heads in a small area resulti in the baby's head molding to fit through leading to a cone head but it's only temperoraly ng

While the baby is coming down the birth canal (during a vaginal birth) the baby's head sometimes gets "squished" and thus thins out by forming the cone shape to make it easier to come down the narrow birth canal...
It is totally normal and will "round out" usually quite quickly....
If you have any concerns, talk to your doctor about it!!

Your baby's head is shaped by the way it comes down the birth canal. It will change shape because the head is maliable.
