I am considering buying a wrap sling like the Maya sling for my new baby. If you have used one, what’s your opinion on them? Did/Do you use them often? Do you like them? Any recommendations on which ones are the best?

We started him on solids just before six months. He has proven interest in food since around 4 months and shows all the signs of being ready. As an E.C.E I understand different variables involved but as a mom I would love some advice from other moms that have EXPERIENCE with a picky eater. He will take fruits (especially banana) and I can hide his cereals in it for his iron count. Are there any veggies that babies tend to like?

My son will be 3 months old soon and we were thinking about changing his name. I thought we were going to have the baby at home (which would have given me a few days to a week to see him and give him a name) but we ended up in the hospital with a c-section and between the drugs and the pain, I just named him after his father. They really rush you to fill out the birth certificate...
Anyway, I'd like to add a first name (we'll keep his first, middle and last name (ie. John David Doe to Andrew John David Doe) since they're family names but I don't know how to go about it or if I can even do it.
If anyone knows anything about this or could provide web sites with information, I'd really appreciate it!
Thank you in advance! :)

Names that would be suiting to a gorgeous girl. Something fierce with an edge to it, that sounds beautiful. A name that's uncommon.

I just asked the question about going to the gym and my milk supply...

If my daughter is sleeping 6-8 hours a night without waking to feed and therefore my milk supply is decreasing...will it decrease until it dries up completely? Or does that just mean that it is decreasing from what it was before? I have heard people say that they quit breastfeeding once their baby sleeps through the night...is that because you eventually decrease milk and then have to suppliment and then the next thing you know, you aren't breastfeeding? I really want to continue but do not want to wake her in the night since she sleeps through the night on her own...

Considering the recent "Back to Sleep" campaign, I am wondering how many parents out there still let their babies sleep on their tummies?

My first son only slept on his back. I made sure I followed the "rules" as a first time mom. We had alot of trouble with him flailing his arms about, and he hated to be swaddled. He always woke up very easily. Now with my second, I experimented with letting him sleep on his tummy for a nap... and he slept so soundly for a good stretch of time. And I watched him like a hawk. He did so well that now it is his preferred position to sleep in. Now that he is rolling over, he accidentally rolls onto his back at night and it wakes him up.

Ok so sometimes I feel guilty because tummy sleeping is frowned upon, but he is doing so well...
I know all about the SIDS statistics, so please don't preach them to me... I just want to know if there are other parents who let their babies tummy sleep as well.
Thanks!

I was just wondering if any other moms had a hard time bonding with their premature babies? My daughter was born at 27 weeks. We have only just fully bonded in the last couple of months and she will be two in May. She is my third child and I did not have this delay with my others, it was instantaneous. I was not able to breastfeed her like the others. She was in the NICU for almost two months.

One reason I wanted to post this question is because I felt so guilty and sad. If there is another mom out there feeling this way, I wanted her to know she is not the only one.

my son is 10 months old, and we went to a resturant we have never been to before. at the resturant they have smashed penuts all over the floor, including under the table that we were sitting at.also there was a bucket of peanuts on the table we were eating, but did not come in contact with. he didnt eat anything different than he hadnt eaten before just the usual (bread, french fries and water). about 30 minuets later (and it could have been sooner but didnt notice it till then) he had a rash all over his face and head, it was blotchy looking. also he had diahrea that night for some reason...thinking maybe an allergic reaction? well can you have an allergic reaction from something even if you didnt touch it, or anything just being in the same room it is exposed to?

he only had a rash and diahrea not problems breathing, itching, or any of that sort.
thanks

Since I have GAINED weight since I had my 2 month old I decided this week to join and gym and get serious about losing it. Unfortunatly, since I started, she seems to be eating more and more. Like every hour or two during the day. At night she goes to bed around 10pm and sleeps until about 5 or 6am without needing to be fed. She has been sleeping through the night for weeks. I USED to pump about 4-6 ounces in the morning after she ate because she would go back to sleep for about 3-4 hours and that was when my milk production was the highest. Last night, I pumped and only got about an ounce and a half out of each side. Granted, I haven't been pumping that much lately. But, is my working out causing my milk production to decrease? Or is the sleeping through the nights causing it to decrease? I am concerned because today (the first time I haven't worked out since Monday), she was hungry ALL day. I fed her and then an hour later she was crying and sucking on her hands,

Our baby bites his mother when throwing a tantrum. How do you discipline such a young child? (He bit her today when she put her finger in his mouth, but she knows he doesn't like that so I told her to keep her fingers out of his mouth). He throws tantrums when you keep him from doing something he wants but we stop because it's dangerous, like running out into a busy street.

I have been breast feeding for almost 3 months now...It can be difficult at times, but life has truly changed. i cannot wear the nice fitted tops i use to wear before. i feel like a mom now. I am 26 years old and a first time mom. I know giving your baby breast milk helps them to have a healthy start throughout life and of course breast milk is best but i have to wear this stupid nursing bra all the time...aong with nursing pads!!! Its so fustrating!!! Cannot get use to it!! I am now a Stay at home mom, i dont wear any shirts at home now during the day because i get milk all over it!!! I hardly go out anywhere even though I try to pump...it takes just as long as breast feeding so why bother!!!breast feeding is a 24/7 committment. i enjoy giving my baby a healthy start, but just wondering if its the same for everyone else out there thats a first time mom!!! I am really trying to stick with it and it is working but it can be stressfull sometimes...
