Be sure whatever you buy doesn't have added sugar or carbs.
Make sure it's one hundred percent fruit/vegetable and that it doesn't have any hard to pronounce chemicals in it!

Gerber Tender Harvest. It's organic, so very little pesticides were used, stuff like that...
That's all I fed my son, but my daughter is right now just using regular gerber. So far, no difference (other than cost), but maybe later down the road there will be?
I'd have to say that in a few years it won't matter anyways, because I'm sure they're going to have candy once in a while, or a quick frozen meal sometimes. Just the world we live in today (fast paced, all about convenience).
I do give you props for being a good mother, though.

Hello:
There are two brands that are nutritious and they are good for your baby because they are organic which means that there are NO PESTICIDES in your baby's dinners,fruits,desserts,etc......
1, Gerber has an organic line of baby food which is expensive but they offer alot of good varieties and it is SO MUCH HEALTHIER than their,"Regular,"line of baby food since there are NO PESTICIDES in the organic line!
2. Earth's Best is another really good brand of baby food that is also organic but it is VERY DIFFICULT to find! I have found it a few times at my grocery store a few years ago,but the store quit selling it because Gerber was taking over ALL of the baby food aisle, and Earth's Best brands of baby food just couldn't compete because it was a little bit more expensive than Gerber and there wasn't as much as a variety either!
I hope that this has been helpful for you and good luck on your decision!! ;-)

STOP using non-fat ingredients. They are not better. In fact, they often have a bunch of junk in them. Just use regular oils and butter sparingly. Our bodies need certain amounts of fats, and flavorful oils like sesame and olive are good ways of getting them while making our food tasty! I start out by cutting the amount a recipe calls for. For example, if a recipe says to use 1 Tbs oil to roast some veggies I will try with 1 tsp and mix everything very well. If it needs a bit more oil I will increase it by 1/2 tsp next time, etc. Also, we do need some salt. Plus, bland food is no fun. Otherwise, maybe try experimenting with different grains and rice? Substitute whole wheat for regular pasta, try brown rice instead of white. I have not yet tried quinoa but have heard a lot of great things about it.

Just read the label and make sure it only has "peas, water." If it starts throwing anything else in there--then those are just fillers.
If you're worried about the quality of the food, buy organic. (Even gerber has an organic line...but costs .10-.20 more.
OR, buy yourself a baby processor and make your own baby food.

You can buy it online.....if stores dont have it around you. Though I have heard that Target is going to start carrying this brand. It is all we have used and I am very pleased with it. Though Gerber is making organic food now, I havent tried it.
Earths best is around .90 each when ordering 12 jars.
The best of luck
Also check with your local health food store as they might can order it cheaper.

The best is to cook yourself, you can cook 10 portions and freeze them, this is the healthiest and most natural. There are plenty of recipes for babyfood. The ones bought in stores usually contain sugar, which is not good for your baby.

PERSONALLY I BELIEVE GERBER IS BEST THEY'VE BEEN IN BUSSINESS FOR A LOT OF YEARS. BUT YOU
CAN USE A BLENDER AND MAKE YOUR OWN BABY FOOD. JUST DON'T PUT ANY SALT PEPPER AND SPICES OR KETCHUP; MUSTARD OR BBQ SAUCE IN IT. AND BABY WILL BE A LOT HAPPIER. YOU CAN USE A FOOD GRINDER AS THEY GET OLDER. GOOD LUCK
AND ENJOY THAT BABY. THEY LOVE MASHED POTATOES. SWEET POTATOES GREEN BEANS AND ALL FRUITS AND JUICES W/OUT SUGAR.

My baby really likes Beech Nut, and its all naturel ingredients. Just read the list of ingredients when shopping for your baby food.
