You should talk to your pediatrician - but if your baby is having a shorter and shorter periods between feedings and still seems to be hungry, you could probably start introducing a little rice into his/her diet. See if he/she goes a bit longer between feedings.

If you mean by the baby cereals, start around 4 months by putting a little rice cereal in the baby's bottle a couple of times a day. Regular food I would say maybe 8 months, things like mashed potoatoes.

Both of mine started grabbing food at almost 6 months. i didn't bother with cereal because it is basically refined startch and has little nutritional value. Veggise are the way to go when starting solids, then fruit, then grains.

it all depends on the child. my daughter, we started then when she was about 6 weeks doctor told us to give her some cereal to help calm the vomiting. with my son we started the solids(cereal and fruits/veggies) and juice at about 3 months at the advice of a nutritionist at the hospital, he was consuming about 96 oz a day of formula. you should always talk to you doctor at his/her office or atleast a nutritionist at your local hospital...either you can contact at any time and they should be willing to help you.if after talking to your doctor and still feel that your child needs to eat solids you can get a second opinion from a nutritionist. you really need to look at the amount of formula your baby is consuming in an average day and give that information to the doctor/nutrionist.

I would ask your babies doctor. My daughter had GERD and we put cereal in her bottle since she was 3 weeks old.
