talk to your local DSHS office. easy to find in phone book, or ask a friend/family member/neighbor. they will have you fill out some papers, then you will be on your way. most states have good programs for pregnant people and you are likely to find much assistance with medical, food, and information, good luck on your new adventure.

forgot, DSHS stands for Department of Social and Health Services. its a state agency.

Why are there people who criticize us on medicaid? I am 28 and pregnant with my second child. I had private insurance when prego with my first. But our family fell upon hard times shortly after her birth and we ended up on medicaid. it is not a bad thing. I am busting my butt to get a good job that will give me health insurance for me and my child(ren). So, don't assume we're all a bunch of bums!!!!!!
Honey, go to your nearest social services office and apply for medicaid. And when you are old enough, get a good job that provides health insurance and hold onto it (don't do what my hubby did and decide that it was a frivolous expense since we were suddenly on one income and not pay it anymore).

Call your local Health Department and ask them about insurance programs you may qualify for. You will most likely qualify for medicaid apply at the department of human services offices(welfare office).

You can probably qualify for medicaid. It should cover you during pregnancy and post pg check-up, then cover baby to at least 12 months old, if not longer.
Go to a WIC office (Women, infants, & children) and they can help in other areas, such as breastfeeding or formula.
Good luck, honey. You're so young & I hope everything works out for you!

Health insurance? You and your soon to be husband need to pay for it like the rest of us do. You can apply for it at work. I suggest you also check into a good birth control method. Getting pregnant and then married at your age is not at good. I certainly hope you plan to continue your education so you won't be left destitute if and when the marriage breaks up. Teen marriages have a very low success rate. Respect yourself and make better choices now that you are bringing a life into the world. You both need to take parenting classes and marriage counseling.

Um your fiance needs to get a job that can support you and your baby along with medical insurance and don't make the rest of us pay for it.

You probably qualify for medicaid, if you want to choose that option. Go to the local Public Aid office and ask for an application.

(Not trying to say anything bad about you, about 70% of people in the US qualify if they would apply)

Go to the Department of Human Services in your town and ask them about it. They can give you all the information on that.

Go to Mexico, get a sun tan, and wad across the Rio Grande. Then the tax payers in the U.S, thanks to the morrons with power, will pay your rent, give you food, and medical. Or, you could always go get a job and buy your own medical. I understand that it is much easier to be a bum and expect everybody else to pay for your irresponciblity. That's why other people have jobs anyway, right. They want to pay for you and your babies medical.
