To answer your question, yes, some doctors do it because there are a lot of hack job piercing places out there and they'd rather have you pierce your baby's ears in a safe place.

Personally, I would never pierce my baby's ears. I have a 2 year old daughter and no matter what we've tried, she's been called a boy a lot simply because she doesn't have much hair (she was nearly bald until she was 16 months old.) I have a friend who had the same problem, so she got her daughter's ears pierced to see if that would stop her from being called a boy, and it DIDN'T! I swear people are stupid when it comes to looking at babies! I've often wanted to lip off that, "Yes, my son is dressed in a pink dress, I really wanted a girl, so I'm starting him off cross dressing early!" because I think it's really stupid for someone to call my daughter a boy when she has on a pink dress, tights, and pink shoes on. Earrings won't change that.

The main reason I wouldn't want to pierce my daughter's ears is because it's a BIG decision to make. What happens if your daughter grows up to be a tom boy and hates having those holes in her ears? Having your ears pierced is almost a rite of passage for girls 4-8 years old. I was 7 when I had mine done, and it was a special treat to go to the mall and get it done.

Yeah, there are doctors that peirce ears. I couldnt find one that would do it for my baby. But when i was little, (im 21) my doctor did it for me, and my cousin whos baby is 3 months old got her doctor to do it recently. But defenitly call and see if ur doctor does it.

BMc ur an idiot! Get ur facts together before you give out ur precious advice!

Yeah, her earings might be slightly uneven if you do it younger but the on the plus side, they wont remember that it hurts. I dont think they are really ever even. Mine are fine and i got them done at 2 weeks old. And what the hell does every one have to give their stupid opinion!? I asked a question about this also a very long time ago ppl were like....She's not ur doll...Let HER decide when she grows up...Its too painful for her!....

Dont listen no one is going to laugh and hang up, call doctors, there are ones that do it!

i'd imagine because they experience apparently beautiful. it really is no longer fairly that vast of a deal so i don't be conscious of why people get so worked up about it. i am going to anticipate my youthful ones to verify yet when some different person needs to peirce their daughers ears even as she's an toddler--flow for it! All females i be conscious of like it executed finally besides.

Don't pierce your baby's ears. She is only a baby. Its not cute its cruel. She might not want pierced ears. What if she grows to be a tomboy and they get caught on something. Young kids don't know how to take care of piercings. I got my ears done by my grandmother and they closed up. Waste of money. Wait until she is old enough to have a choice in the matter and take care of them herself.

I have done my fair share of work in doctor's offices and can tell you that from a medical standpoint it is not in the doctor's scope of practice to do ear piercing in the office. They are not covered by insurance to do this and they woudl have to be paid under the table to do it since it cannot be turned into insurance company and they can't even legally charge you for an office visit. There are no CPT or diagnosis codes for this to be turned into an insurance company so if there are doctors doing this, and I have never met one myself, they are doing so illegally and can have their license to practice medicine revoked if they are caught.

Some pediatricans do pierce ears. My office (in Rockland County, NY) does for $45, and that includes the earrings - which are surgical grade metal or plastic, parent's choice. Most won't do it if the child is under six months old.

Call and ask them, if they don't, they might know someone who does.

I'm pretty sure they can but i would wait if i were you. I used to be a professional ear peircer and it is better to wait till ur child is around 4 maybe 5 to do that because the ear lobes are not totally done growing and the earring hole will be really low once he/ she gets older.

Ear piercing is not a medical procedure. Why on earth would you cosmetically alter the body of an infant? So people can tell that she has a vagina? There is no need to put more holes in a baby's body than they were born with.

Are you serious? No established or professional pediatrician office is going to pierce your baby's ears! It's not a salon! If you call and ask that they are going to think you are joking and laugh and hang up on you!
