With my first I said "hi, there. I'm your mommy." She was prob thinking, duh!
My 2nd, after I saw a stream of pee shoot thru the air, doc said "It's a boy!" I said, "I know. I can tell!"
My 3rd was c-section w/twin girls. I said, "Oh my goodness! Look at all that hair!"
I think I cried with all 3 deliveries.

LMAO!!! My husband still teases me about this!

We were told at 20 weeks that we were having a little girl and when our PERFECT little daughter was born and placed on my tummy, I cried. Her little girl bits were swollen from birth (perfectly normal!) and the first words I said were

"But I wanted a little girl!"

Which was very quickly followed by "My beautiful little princess..."

I still feel stupid for saying it!

I was sooooo spaced out (the early morning of a planned C-section I went into labour, two hours later needed to push, had an emergency c/s, was in a badbadbad relationship, was totally freaked right out and in denial!). I think I managed, "Hi," eventually, when he was laid on my chest. Mostly I just stared into his eyes.

With my two girls I had alot of people there so I only had time to say I love you and just start at them in awe. With my son I was by myself and I told him alot of things and sang to him before they took him to be cleaned up.... but I think I love you is pretty much the first thing every mother says.

With my first, it was "Hi! I'm your Mama, and I love you so much!"

Pretty much other normal stuff for the next few, too-- "You're finally here! You're so beautiful!" and such.

But my last one-- my sixth baby-- I said, "There had better not be a twin in there!!!" Hubby still won't let me live that one down... LOL

I know this might sound dumb, but mine where do you have all 10 toes, and 10 fingers, and this was on my first child birth, even my husband thought it was a bit harsh.
