It kind of appeared as soon as her umbilical cord fell off. Is this normal and will it go away on its own?

I am watching my 11 week old niece and she will not look at me when I hold her. I will turn her toward me and she will look away. Even when I call her name and talk to her she will not turn her head toward me. She looks at the ceiling fan and the TV. I called my SIL and told her and she said she does it to her. She said if you lay her down then she will look at you. I don't remeber any of my 3 doing this. Is something wrong??

First time mom, and I have some questions, my daughter is one week today, and im feeding her one oz every 3-4 hours and im wondering when do i start trying to give her more... and by how much do i start increasing her formula ( i would love to breast feed, but for medical reasons I cant so please no comments about breast fed is the best fed and other things).

Another question I have is about their gums I see products to clean their mouth and gums and at what age do you start doing that?

Is it still to early to try to get her to sleep in her own crib? I hear having them sleep in bed with you can cause SID's and that does scare me...

Burping techniques, I use the holding the chin while putting baby foward kind... dont know the technical term for it, but sometimes she wont burp and spits up later i use enfamil gentlease cause shes very gassy...

Any other useful tips and information would be very much appreciated and helpful

My 1 1/2 year old son only likes to eat hot cereal, yogurt, mashed potatoes, cookies, chips, french fries and I am wondering if there is something else I can give him besides those things that he won't choke on.

When i put my daughter down to sleep she will be facing one way in the crib then when i go in for her 4 am feeding her head is at the other end of the bed!!! And yes i have checked to make sure that noone else went in and moved her. This has happened many nights and she is always either upside down or turned 180 degrees in her crib. Wondering if anyone else has had this going on and if its normal? I dont let her cry for very long when she wakes up in the middle of the night so im not sure why she moves around so much.. And answers will be appreciated thanks..

She is nine months old and only spits up/vomits after her morning and afternoon naps, when she's had formula. It's usually a gluey consistency and she cries right before it comes up. Her doctor can't tell me anything without seeing her, and she's booked up until next weeks while this has been going on for at least three months.

He's not colic, he eats fine, no gas problems, he actually sleeps ok. But he will not let me put him down no matter what. Won't sit in a swing, doesn't like his car seat, doesn't like the crib. He'll sleep even if it's deep if I put him down, the second I do he's wide awake. Does anyone have any advice. And don't tell me just to let him cry the pediatrician said that's not a good thing to do at this age.

How early were your twins when they were born, were there any complications with the birth or the babies. Did they have to stay in ICU or the hospital and if so for how long. Sorry to just throw all these questions out. I am 19 weeks along with twins. I have three older boys but they were all singletons. I have been told that it is almost guaranteed that they will come at least 5 weeks early. My husband and I are just trying to prepare ourselves. Thank you for any answers you can give.

I feel horrible. My husband and I tried so hard for a baby, had such a tough time of it and felt so blessed to have our daughter, and motherhood isn't at all what I expected or hoped. Our daughter is perfectly healthy but has infant reflux and colic. She cries ALL the time and nothing I do seems to console her for very long. We're trying to get to the bottom of this, going to the doctor, trying medications and changing her formula. I carry her everywhere and rock her and swaddle her and sing to her...nothing helps and I'm so burnt out. Today I felt aweful for just putting her down and walking away for awhile...I'm alone all day and feel so frustrated. She won't nap and I can't even take the time to eat without holding her. I feel like a bad mom, I love her more than life but I am feeling resentful, particularly because my friends seem to have happy babies and I have such a miserable little thing! Any tips to get through this? I know it will end but she's only a month old now.

My baby girl is 3 weeks old. How do I moisturize her hair after I wash it? Also any cures for cradle cap? She does not have it yet but if nothing has changed in past 17 years ( since I had my last child) I know its coming.

Please don't answer if you are going to be rude, I just found out that I was having a girl yesterday....I am SO excited, and I absolutely love the name Kennadie, but I am having some major problems finding a middle name that goes with the last name also (Howard) and I don't want lynn or Marie or anything as generic, but nothing too weird either...

my daugher keeps getting sick from her daycare, this was her first week back, she was out all last week because of a fever, it got so bad we had to take her to the ER, thought it was rsv but that came back negative. so she got better and now getting sick again. she has a fever of 101-102, but goes up and down. i really hate daycare but its the only option i got since i dont have anyone else to watch her. i know she is going to get sick that way her body will slowly get immune but it still sucks. so whats the best way for a fever, keep them warm so they can sweat it out or get them down to a diaper to keep them cool. ive heard both ways.

I was just wondering how you can tell if a 10 month old baby is being neglected? What signs would the baby show? Would the infant's behavior change when people DO give the baby the attention he/she is missing?

My baby is three weeks old. I breastfeed and he usually get enough, although after I feed him, there is nothing left {I have a hospital grade medela pump, so I tried to pump after feeding and there was only a few drops}, but sometimes he is still hungry and there is just nothing left. Does it happen to you and what do you do when it does? I don't want to give him formula unless I really HAVE TO. Are you supposed to have more milk then the baby drinks or exactly the amount he drinks?
