It kind of appeared as soon as her umbilical cord fell off. Is this normal and will it go away on its own?

My daughter had a huge one till she was like 6 months and it just kinda went away ( I just got used to it and it slowly went down) She is 13 months now and VERY normal. Sometimes it will not go away but usually it will on its own.

THEY SAY DO NOT DO ANYTHING TO CORRECT IT!! It will cause more harm than good !!! Talk to your doc.

My 3rd son had that. It is normal and can be corrected or it can go away on its own. My sons went away on its own by the time he was only a few months old. He got his because he was premature.

When the orfice is small (< 1 or 2cm), 90% closes within 3 years, and if these hernias are asymptomatic, reducible, and don't enlarge, no surgery is needed (and in other cases it must be considered).

My first child had the same thing! And yes it does go away on its own. It took a little while but it did go away on its own. Makes sure its ok with your pediatrician, but im sure it will be fine!

My son has one too. His Dr. told me it's normal and 98% of the time it will heal on its own.
