The best and least expensive thing to use is Vaseline or pure petroleum jelly. I have been using it on my son who also had dry skin since he was one month. Now at three months his skin is soft and show no signs of dryness or irritation. I rub it on him in the morning, during a midday diaper change and at bedtime. You can also use it right after a bath. Dont completely dry the baby off. Put the Vaseline all over her body and it will protect her skin and seal in the moisture from the water! Good luck

My son had that on his cheeks...I used Eucerin or Aquaphor lotion. They're a bit more pricey, but work like a charm! Just put it on frequently(definitely after a bath)and it will go away in a few days. All the cold and heaters really does a number on that sensitive baby skin! Good luck!

She sounds like she has sensitive skin. My baby has the same thing- it's awful especially in the winter. We stuck with natural, organic products (especially since your skin is your largest organ- don't want to put icky stuff on it and you want to take care of it). Burts Bees worked wonderfully. However, basic (and cheaper!) vasoline will do the trick as well.
When ever you are dealing with a baby, it's best to give a quick call to the nurse that works with your doctor to make sure this isn't something else.

Sounds crazy but petroleum jelly works like a charm! My son had ecezma really bad on his face...after using p.j. we've had no flare ups. I'm just really adament about putting it on and using it at night. You'll have the best results at night time.
Be careful with lotions. It can irritate and cause that irrited skin to become red and blotchy (like hives). Their skin is really thin and sensative this young. And could make the problem worse...especially perfumed lotions.

i remember my son was doing that too. i thought it was my genetics of dry skin until my mom said that he was shedding out his baby skin (i don't know if that's true or not). but i left it alone and it went away. i think it might be the skin was getting use to the new enviroment since babies were in the belly for nine months...anywhos, it's normal and it'll go away. if you can't stand the look of it, i use the baby balm stick that moisturize dry patches.

You can use a little vaseline on it. It will moisturize it and protect it at the same time. And it's pure. I know you can also buy things like Aquaphor, or I've used udder cream which is also great. It comes in a tub that's black and white like a cow.

AQUAPHORE! SLATHER IT ON OFTEN! its gently you can buy aquahore baby in the baby toiletries aisle or go to the lotion aisle and its buy the eucerin lotion. get the biggest one and put it on all the time. also in the johnson's baby natruals line of products they sell this little thing that looks like a babysized deoderant stick its actually a stick of balm you can put it in your purse and keep it with you always. just wash her face with soap and water to keep it clean i dont think the soap dries it out any worse than it is and keep the aquaphore on watch in 4 days itll be all cleared up! it worked for me!

You can try using an extra sensitive baby lotion or just clean the area with warm water when it gets dried out too much.

That sounds like cradle cap.
Is it "dry skin" or is it flakes...my son actually had skin flakes (Just like cradle cap) on his forhead and eyebrows...
My son had it too and I just took baby lotion and a wash cloth and rubbed it off.
Good luck mamma :)

You can try rubbing a little baby oil into her skin at bath time, then rinsing it off.
