I have a fisher price monitor that is just a waste of money and effort (in making it work)
There is static all the time and I can barely hear my baby.

OK...I have that stupid fisher price monitor too..I still use part of it...but the replacement monitor I got is the best monitor ever.

It's silly really ...it's called a "Crystal Clear" monitor by safety first. It's the cheapest monitor ever and it's the best one I have found!!

It's crystal clear just like the name says and you can turn it up really really loud...it's excellent!!

And its so cheap that if you drop it or whatever...it doesn't matter cause you can totally afford to replace it!

I love mine and I totally bought it as a fluke to replace the more expensive one I got as a gift that didn't work so well...

Here's the link to see it at target.

We use Summer: http://www.target.com/gp/detail.html/sr=1-48/qid=1171579298/ref=sr_1_48/601-0282596-5377704?ie=UTF8&asin=B00020V5A2 , and while there is static when the cordless phone is on, at all other times it actually works great! We found a way around it using our cell phones mainly when the baby is asleep and the monitor is on. It's got a pretty wide range of signal, so I can even take the handheld piece out to our yard (and we have a large one, too), and still be able to keep an eye on the baby. It's got a night vision function for when the room is dim or dark, and the sound sensor is very sensitive, I can hear the baby breathe and the clock tick. It's portable and rechargeable, and has a bigger screen than any other. We can also connect it to the TV and watch the baby "picture in picture" or switch channels for full screen image. I love it!

You can read consumer reviews on the same website and judge for yourself.

Yes I think mine is a fantastic monitor. It is an angel monitor. Im not 100 percent sure of make. It has a pad that monitors the babys breathing and is attached easily and just lies on the cot under the mattress. In the first week I didnt have a monitor at all. I was a nervous wreck. Didnt sleep a wink with the fear she would stop breathing. Then I got this angel monitor and the reassurance was fantastic. Plug in or battery. Static fine too. I would definitly recommend it.

I LOVE this monitor, it works so great we can hear the clock ticking in our daughter's room. It has a rechargeable battery so we just leave it on the base in our room at night and then it's charged for me take downstairs during the day for naps. We got ours at Target about 8 months ago, but I know they sell it other places like Babies R Us also.
