My 1 1/2 year old son only likes to eat hot cereal, yogurt, mashed potatoes, cookies, chips, french fries and I am wondering if there is something else I can give him besides those things that he won't choke on.

an 18 month old should be eating everything you eat. try a variety of things...the possibilities are endless! if you 're still feeding him jarred baby food, stop, he needs to eat table food to get the vitamins and nutrients.

Have you tried sandwiches or toast with jam, honey or peanut butter on them? Or maybe scrambled eggs, an omelette (this is a great way to get them to eat vegies too), or a variation on the mashed potato - add other vegies or some mince meat & make into a fritatta & fry it lightly.

well cut out the cookies, chips and french fries. Not even ADULTS need those foods. Just crap.

Give him everything you are eating. My son is 15 months and eats everything we eat. He loves pasta, tuna sandiwches, egg salad sandwiches, homemade pizza, stir fry, chicken, spaghetti, lasagna, homemade macaroni and cheese, apples, canned mandrin oranges, peas, cooked carrots cut into cubes, chunks of avacado, corn....the opportunities are endless!
