The father isn't the one who determines twins, so it's not that unusual that she would have 2 sets. If they are fraternal, she must release 2 eggs when she ovulates. If they are identical, then she is genetically predisposed to having the egg seperate after fertilization.

Not sure how common that is. The previous pastor at my church had two sets of identical twins a few years apart. That was the first time I'd ever seen that happen, too.

My Aunt had two sets of indentical twin boys within 5 years of each other. No-one else in the family has ever had twins before that!

Wow... sounds unusual but I just had twins 15 months ago one boy and one girl and we are thinking about having one more and the doctor told us that we are in a 97% to have another set... He has done lab work and everything on us to confirm this... weird how things work..

I don't think it's very common apart from in women who have IVF treatment. But saying that my granddad had two sets of twins as siblings but this pattern hasn't continued down the genetic line..... YET!

the twin gene must run in her side of the family if she has 2 different fathers

probalby not as weird as my Uncle's girls..
He's got two sets of identical twin daughters by two different wives..

She could have some gene in her family in her that produces her eggs to want to split..
but my uncle finding two different women with that seems like it'd be less probable?

Technically they are cousins, yet they might have DNA as though they have been brother and sister and could seem lots alike. i individually observed a television tutor as quickly as with a family contributors like that. It become weird and wonderful by using fact the youngsters appeared alike and you're able to no longer tell who belonged to what make certain!

Its more common than people think, if the twin gene is on her side then she is carrying it and it is more than likely gonna happen at some point.

A friend of mine has 7 kids, all boys....!
