I like to drink but in the morning I hate having to pump and dump. I only breastfeed my baby, who is 8 months old, at night and early morning but not during the day. Could I go without pump and dump if I get drunk the night before?

my 3 week old daughter now has this problem where she will sleep soundly during the day and get up then be hungry and throw fits where she screams out and is crying for a long time. then she will fall asleep. and at night she is up often and is horribly fussy. [i think its the beginning of her getting her nights & days mixed up].. what can i do to get her to sleep like she does during the day at night and not so soundly during the day and to help with her fussyness??

I was told to read to him but my son is a very active child who from the moment he learned to turn over doesn't stay still for me to change his clothes much less to read him a story. If i don't read to him often does that mean he won't be a bright child.

My daughter is 6 weeks old today. IN the afternoon, when I place her in her little bouncy seat when she is asleep she wakes up SCREAMING. This pretty much continues for the rest of the night. When I pick her up I can "sh" her and pat her on teh back until she calms down and falls back asleep. But then when I set her back down, she will sleep for maybe 15 minutes and then just wake up screaming. My question is, at what point are you spoiling her? I don't mind picking her up if I am not doing some long term damage...I don't want her to cry it out but my friend has a 2 year old who absolutly can NOT be away from his mom long enough for her to go to the bathroom and I refuse to let Edie be that way...but everything i read says that she needs to know I am here and that she is too young to "cry it out". But what is the cut off for this? I don't know if she "needs" to be comforted or if she has learned already that if she cries I will drop everything and sit with her. I am losing it!

Do you feed your baby a bottle/breast, then give a solid food meal right away? Or do you space things out?

My 2 month old son has always had soft stools. He is formula fed. Today he had a stool that wasn't exactly hard but it was formed in a slightly soft lump and drier than usual. Is he constipated? ( He usually has a bowel movement once a day and that has not changed)

My 4 month old baby has been with a sitter all day. Shes a good kid and I know my baby can be a handful and then some. I was thinking 30 bucks but when I figure it out thats less than 5 bucks an hour. Its an 8 hour day for the girl with my little one. What do you think is a fair amount to pay her. Any ideas will be helpful.

Everytime I put him down, he starts crying! He likes to be walked around and loves for people to hold and talk to him. What can I do? He is starting daycare and I am afraid he will cry all day if they don't hold him. It just kills me to just let him cry, in an attempt to "not spoil him"! HELP!

i want to start using cloth diapers...i am thinking of using pre-folds or contour cloth diapers with a wrap style velcro or snap cover to hold it in place because I don't want to use pins. Any one have experience with this...what is your favorite brand or style.

My baby is only 3 days old. I'm bottle feeding her formula only. Bottle feeding from day one and will most likely continue to only bottle feed her. I don't feel like she drinks very much at all. I've been jotting down the amounts she drinks in a full day and yesterday she only drink a little more than 5 ounces of formula. I'm feeding her Similac Advaced formula. How many ounces of formula should newborns drink in a day?

I'm researching on whether cloth or disposable diapers are more cost efficient. For now I figure I will use the cloth diapers at home, and the disposable diapers when we're out, to keep from having 2 transport used diapers. My only question insofar with the cloth diaper is how to effectively clean it at home. Common sense tells me that soaking the diaper before throwing it in the wash is probably a good idea, but are there any special types of solvent I will be needing, or a special type of pail (w/ a lid) to keep odors at bay?
