I don't know if you would try this but I used ALOE ...You have to get you an ALOE plant, cut a 4" piece, and take the gel out of it...then apply it on your baby's gums... this should stop the pain and since it is natural, it will not affect your baby if he swallows it.

Ouch! Oh poor baby! Motrin Infant Drops would work best on teething pain. And you can alternate with Tylenol. The combination seems to work best for most kids and keeps the level of pain killer up so that they dont get the hurting back before the next dose is due. You can check with your pediatrician(always your best advisor) and they will likely tell you the same thing. Depending on age pedialyte popsickles are good they kind of freeze that spot.

I loved hyland teething tablets. They are availible at wal-mart, co-ops and natural food store (like whole foods or wild oats)

You can also use baby orajel. I would try to avoid baby tylenol if you can. tylenol use on a regular basis can lead to kidney problems.

of course there are the refrigerator teething rings but my son never liked them. I think adults like them more. Most of them are so stiff they are hard to chew on. The ones that were really soft and my son actually liked he would break. While they were only filled with water I still didn't like that idea so it was out.

My son really only liked a wet washcloths. keep them in the refirgetator in a pitcher of cold water. and wash them when they get dirty.

First years makes a baby teething toy that vibrates to massage the gums when bitten down on.

Also in the groccery stores they sell applesauce in a squeeze tube container. If you freeze these babies love to chew on them.

There are also mesh net baby feeders made for babbies to gum on basically, but they won't be able to choke on any chunks. A frozen fruit in these helps and is healthy but they tend to be pretty messy.

Have you tried teething tablets? I would not use anbesol... I heard that it has been hardening the gums and it's a lot harder for the teeth to force through so the child will not get them until way later on. Your best bet would be to give him Tylenol and hope that he goes to sleep. Sorry, it's a natural part of life!

Tygel and Ambisol work best.
Otherwise put a teething ring in the freezer.

They have gel filled chewables. Place these in the freezer and let them teeth on those. It will numb the pain. other than that, it is usually over in a couple of days.

Buy the teething tablets and rub them on your baby's gums while the tablets dissolve.
