Yes it's normal. It all depends on the child. Some get teeth at 4 months (although that is early) others wait longer. However average time is between 6-9 months for the first tooth.

There are a few factors.
a. It sometimes depends on the day the parents first got their baby teeth. Unfortunately for us I got mine at 6 months and my husband 9 months. I had 3 kids. The first got hers at 6 months and the second at 5 months. The third wanted to be more like Daddy and got hers at 9 months.
b. Some kids go early and some late. We have friends that had a baby that got teeth at 4 months and a cousin that her son didn't get his first until 13 months.
The good news is that it really doesn't matter. They can still eat food. They just chew it with their gums. You may have to cut things smaller, but they should be fine. I know it is hard not to worry, but trust me, there will always be something to worry about.

Yes!!
My daughter didn't get her first tooth until 9 1/2 months old. I thought it was because she was premature,so that had worried me too! So, I asked her doctor, and he said babies usually start teething between 4months and 1 1/2 years. They are all different and not to worry. Ask your pediatrician about any developmental concerns, but this one is totally normal, so don't worry!:)

yes, kids get them at all different times. some get their first as early as a few months, some as late as a year and a half. But none of them have all their teeth by 8 months.

Totally normal, I went through that with my first child. Just be warned, sometimes when they wait to cut the first one they cut teeth in bunches! My daughter cut 3 teeth in 4 days!

Usually between four and eight months but plenty of normal healthy children do not get teeth before their first birthday. Do not worry, they will come.
