My daughter is just a little over a month old and the doctors say that it is ok to let her cry a little bit here and there because lately she won't go to sleep if I am not holding her. In the past 3 days i have had 6 hours of sleep and I also have a 2 year old son that i have to look after. They say it is supposed to be healthy for them cleans there lungs out. My aunt says that is how she got her little to sleep through the night was let her cry her self to sleep but that isn't what i am wanting to do. I just want to get the point across that I am not going to pick her up every time she cries? Is it ok to let her cry a bit?

I'm due at the end of December & I'm starting to look for the best bottles for breastfed babies. I want it to be comfortable for my baby & I really would like for them to be easy for him to latch on.

I read in a survey recently that 23% percent of mothers in the uk who bottlefed did so because breastfeeding felt wrong or disgusting. I have never come accross anyone before who felt that breastfeeding is wring and have never experienced any comments whilst feeding my baby in public.
So who thinks that? ANd why?

I have been given free formula samples from different companies and wish to use them, but I have chosen to breastfeed if possible. Can I do both without causing any problems with my newborn? The baby is my first and is coming this weekend!!

I feel like I have tried everything but she will not eat meat - chicken, beef, turkey, lamb...it doesn't matter what she throws everything back out.

I've tried making my own food, using the commercial food. I've tried mixing it with vegetables and fruit. No matter what I try, she picks up on the taste and won't eat it.

I was going to try giving her fish, but my doctor told me no : (

Thankfully now that she can eat egg yolk, I've been able to mix a cooked egg yolk in with her cereal in the morning. But come lunch or dinner she won't eat the meat and I'm extremely concerned that she isn't getting enough protein.

Does anyone have any recipes or suggestions on how I can get her to eat some meat? She's still eating mashed foods - some lumps & texture but mostly smooth.

Please help!

my boyfriend's sister invited me to her daughter's Christening at the end of the month. I am from a non-religious family so I've never been to one. I know what they're all about and all of that good stuff but I wanted to know, are christening gifts expected? Its not a big deal if they are but if they aren't, I dont want to be the only one bringing a gift! If they are, what do you recommend? The baby is only a few months old. Thank you!!

Most everyone said "No, not a good idea to name your child after a rock star. They will be teased and people will think their name is weird." But just think--wouldn't it be awesome to people when they ask about your name: "I know it's a bit weird, but I was named after a rock star!" That just seems like something awesome to me. Everybody goes through that phase (especially teenagers) where it's all rock n' roll. I would never name my child something ridiculous though. I was thinking about:

Lennon
Axil (After Axl Rose)
Frehley (after Ace Frehley)
Jovi (after Jon Bon Jovi)

What do you think?

Kaylie was born Sept 30th. She just started getting cranky in the evenings about a week ago. She crys for no reason. I always check if shes hungry or if she has a dirty diaper and she still crys her head off. I feel so helpless when she gets into this mood. No matter how much i try to comfort her she still crys. Is there anything more i can do to help her?

My baby is 3 months and I dont have time to Breast feed her throughtout the day. I do pump at work around the same time each day. I'm only getting about 2 oz. Should I stop feeding her the milk and also if I use Fenugreek will this make me have more milk?
Since her birth I have not pumped out no more than 3 oz but this week it seems like only 1 oz.

What do you think about doing that? Music has always been such an awesome part of my life and there are so many artists/musicians that I adore. What do you think of naming your kid after a rock star? Tryndee? Cheesy? Weird? What?

I watch my nephew, who is 9 months old, a couple days a week. Today my brother (his Dad) brought him over for me to watch and said that he has purple spots on the folds of his neck. He has 8 spots total and they don't look like chicken pox or measles. They are small, very purple dots. He is acting his normal, giggly self and has no fever or any other symptoms. These dots just sort of sprang up overnight. WebMd.com wasn't much help. All it suggested was measles, chicken pox or strep throat, all of which are accompanied by fever, but he has none.

My wife and I are expecting our first child soon and have been arguing over what to call him. She wants to name him after her Dad who is called Ivor but I want to name him after my favourite DJ's nickname. The DJ is Marc Riley who used to be on Radio 1, his nickname is Lard which I think is really cool, anyway a friend suggested we could have Ivor as his first name and Lard for his middle name, so what do you think, does Ivor Lard Jenas have a good ring to it?

I saw on tv babies that weigh twice as much as me. Their mother know and everyone knows that the kids will probably die very younger by being so fat. But why do those moms still over feed their babies? Do they not know that it could kill them?

My daughter is 8 months old. She will feed herself finger foods (small pieces of bread, rice puffs, baby biscuits etc.)

Occasionally she will try to grab the spoon when I am feeding her and attempt to put it into her own mouth. But then she'll lose interest in feeding herself from the spoon and won't show interest again for another few weeks.

Should I be encouraging her to feed herself at this age, or should I wait until she's a bit older and shows a bit more interest?

I am pregnant and not a teenager. I don't qualify for goverment programs because I have no other children. I'm not poor, but don't have extra cash to spend on having a baby. I need everything from furniture to diapers and baby clothes. I know some would say that I shouldn't have the baby in the first place, but, I have liver cancer and her stem cells will be a match for me. We didn't know I was pregnant until she was 4 months in my tummy. Turned out to be a miracle baby. Now I need help to pay for it. I can handle all the medical costs, and the things that come that way, but, I can't really do much else. Its sad, if i was broke with no job and lots more kids I would qualify for goverment assistance. But, I dont want to go that route. I just want information on how I can get some free stuff without pity. If you have any information on how I can do that it would help a lot. I would be willing of course to PAY IT FORWARD. PLEASE HELP!! thank you.
