My wife and I are expecting our first child soon and have been arguing over what to call him. She wants to name him after her Dad who is called Ivor but I want to name him after my favourite DJ's nickname. The DJ is Marc Riley who used to be on Radio 1, his nickname is Lard which I think is really cool, anyway a friend suggested we could have Ivor as his first name and Lard for his middle name, so what do you think, does Ivor Lard Jenas have a good ring to it?

Hi Mr Jenas

I think the names you have chosen are absolutely great, however if I am not too forward I would like to put forward another name for your consideration. It comes from one of my favorite movies titled 'Itchi The Killer'. I think Itchi is an absolutely great name for a child as I am sure you will agree and as not to discount the names you have already chosen, I think perhaps 'Ivor Itchi Lard' has a good sound to it.
Please let me know your thoughts on this........

I think Marc Ivor has a ring to it, (Ivor Marc doesn't quite roll off the tongue the same way) partly because I once had a friend by the name of Marcus, and you really don't want your child to grow up with a name like Ivor Lard or even Lard Ivor or, worse still, Lard Jenas which doesn't exactly roll off the tongue. Please, don't put your child through any adolescent stigma. Don't be a geek by letting fashion or fads rule your choice, and have some respect for your father-in-law. Marc Ivor sounds just fine.

I dont think you have enough names in there. How about Peter, like the great Peter Powell ex of Anthea Turner. Another sublime DJ, or just shorten it to P, so he could be called, Ivor Lard P. Jenas or you could move the letters about in your name, How about, Ivor Lard JPenas?

they are a bit slow the night HUGE! x

Yikes! I think you better rethink those names! What about Marc Ivor Jenas? That sounds much better!

But do you really want to name a baby after a celebrity? In a few years it could come out he looks at kiddie porn on the Internet or some other horrible act...

That certainly is a way to punish your baby for the rest of his life. Sorry, but I would name him Marc Ivor Jenas instead. I am sure your wife's father is proud of his name, but in the year 2006, that might not be such a good first name to give your baby.

Please take no offense to my suggestion.

Ivor is lovely, but so is the name Riley, well its certainley preferable to Lard. Do you know that song 'Life of Riley' well its about the singers son who is called Riley.

Lard?
Ivor?

"I don't fink so!"

Na, if the world was perfect we would pick our own names. hat sounds good to you mightn't sound good to your son.

How about:
James Emanuel Marc Jenas?
Adam Jenas
Daniel Ivor Jenas
Darrel Marc Jenas
or . . .

i' m sorry to say i would feel sorry for your baby with that name.
I WOULD USE IVOR as a middle name, but lard! you've got to be joking.the poor child would have the mickey taken out of him something rotten.
choose a descent name for your son,as he's going to be your legacy.
