Well I am having a baby girl. Let me know things you did with your little girl or things I should aim at doing to make her smarter, more successful, athletic or whatever. Any tips, fun creative games, traditions that I can use in her life. I will be a single mom and my mother had me at 18 so my childhood was not all that normal. Thank you

My 1 year old has had about 4 ear infections in the last 6 months, the doctor said she would reccomend a small tube that would fall out in 6 months. The only worry that I have is that my 7 year old had tubes when he was little and we took him to a ear nose and throat doctor that was a asshole. He put a t-shaped tube in his that had to be removed two year after it was put in. After the tubes fell out he had a hole in both of his eardrums, he is 7 years old now and for the last 2 years he has had 4 major surgeris on both ears to close the holes in his eardrum. We took him to a different doctor that is about 1 hour away from where we live for his last 2 operations, his ears are fine now, i guess my concern is will it happen to my 1 year old. I don't want to put him through everything his older brother had to go through. What do you think, should I put the tubes in or let him grow out of it?

My husband came home and asked me if i read the paper today,A couple he knows two week old baby just died and i asked how he said you don't want to know because we have a three week old.I said yes tell me well apparently the mom went to take a bath and left the baby in the living room with her three year old and told her not to mess with the baby. The three year old tried to pick the baby up and dropped him there was a footstool beside the bassinet and baby hit his head on it.I told my husband thats why i don't let our other two children hold our baby yet and i don't dare leave the room with them in there and the baby alone.I really won't even consider letting them hold the baby now.So my question is would you feel different about your child even if you didn't want to and you knew it was an accident. But you told the child not to touch the baby and something tragic like this happened because they didn't obey you?

I'm rephrasing a question previously posted as the answers I received was not what I was looking for. When introducing solids to a baby, breast milk/formula is still the main source of nutrition. But the older they get, less milk they have as meals. When do solids become the main source of their meals and formula/breast milk become secondary ?

He can sit up if you sit him up but he has not learned to get into the sitting position by himself yet. He crawls around the floor like speed racer. He is doing fine with everything else. I no that every baby is different. Should I be concerned with this or just give it time?

Some friends of mine are expecting their first baby (a boy) very soon. His Dad is a professional drummer and we would like to find some baby clothes that have a 'drumming' theme to them.
I thought that some of the drum companies would make / lend their name to baby clothes but have yet to find any.
Anyone got any source that you can share?
Thanks!

Mine was my fisher price cradle swing, it rocks my baby to sleep in a matter of minutes. He goes from a screaming nightmare to an angel in no time! I'd love to hear about other mothers best buys that have saved their sanity, or just made your life that much easier.

throughout my partners side the name Christopher and John/Jonathan appears in every generation, and all though when the times comes we'd like to keep my partners first name as the baby's second name, which is Jonathan, we struggle to think of a good, fairly orignal first name that sounds good with Jonathan, but not using Chris or Christopher. Any suggestions?

The reason I ask is because I have read so many answers about giving baby formula. Babies were born to be breastfed. Breastmilk is the best food for your baby, no exceptions. It has EVERYTHING your baby needs, and is the cheapest baby food there is. It is always the right temperature and is the most healthy. So why don't you all breastfeed? I don't get it! And PLEASE don't say it's because you work. My mom worked too, but took time every day to pump and feed me bottles of breast milk, and she breastfed me when she got home. You had the baby, so why don't people care for babies the way NATURE intended?

My baby is 8 months old and has been waking up every two hours throughout the night. I don't expect her to sleep through the night, but a little longer would sure be nice.

I've tried letting her fuss a little and rubbing her back and not picking her up and talking to her etc. She does fall back to sleep, but wakes up 1/2 hour later.

Suggestions would be appreciated. Thank you
