Jonathan is a long second name, so i would suggest a short and sweet first name.
Maybe:
Nate Jonathan
Lee-Scott Jonathan (i like Lee-Scott Jonathan personally)
Sam Jonathan
Paul Jonathan
Sid Jonathan
Rio Jonathan
Craig Jonathan
Chuck Jonathan
Issac Jonathan
Tay Jonathan
Hope i managed to help :)
Good luck !

Whatever you do avoid the current rash of pikey/made-up/mispelled names like the plague. For example, the names 'Carsten' and 'Logan' as suggested earlier. All this Keegan and Riley and Keaton and all the terrible pikey names that girls get given like Chantelle and Crystal and Cierra and anything ending in -eisha (Lakeisha etc. etc.) should all be avoided at all costs.
Choose something pleasant and traditional. There are loads of names out there. How about Jonathan James? Jonathan George? He might get the nickname JJ or JG later in life. That's reasonably acceptable.

What about shortening the middle name to John? I think that you will find that more First names go with a shorter middle name.
Matthew John
Lucas John
Nicholas John
Adrian John
Christian John
Tristan John
Tyler Johnathan (might work?)
Good Luck With the Name!

I found choosing my sons name the hardest thing in the world! Keep a list of names that you like and then if another comes to mind add it to the list before you forget it.
How about Jonn-Jonn all as a first name and Christopher as the middle name.

Whose family name will the baby inherit? If your partner's you could use you partner's 2nd name as the baby's 1st name and your family name as the baby's 2nd name or if it is yours then you could use your partner's family name as the baby's 2nd name? That way you both contribute. Of course this only works if the family name can be converted into a forename, but many can. BTW if it sounds better reverse the names but call the child by the 2nd name. Thus if you want to call your child Caesar, Julius Caesar sounds better than Caesar Julius, so you name him Julius Caesar but call him Caesar anyway.

Not sure, but I'd be inclined to choose a first name that is short, or has a short (monosylable) form.
My family name is a long old thing, and everyone shotens my first name to Jim when addressing me in full, or uses my nickname. Using the whole lot just sounds odd.

Tate - it means cheerful one and it goes well with Jonathan.. since the middle name is long you need a short first name.. they how names sound best. and make sure it goes with your last name.. my last name is Blackie so for girls names we had trouble cause anything ending ie or y was a no no.. good luck
